My Morning Skin Care Routine


Morning Everyone! Today I wanted to show you guys my morning skin care routine and give you guys a few tips on how to keep your skin clear throughout the summertime.

I believe simplicity is the number one rule when it comes to healthy skin. I never enjoyed using seven different serums on my face to keep it clear, or use multiple acne treatments at one time. This defeats the purpose of clear skin; adding several pounds of gunk to your face to make it glow will NOT keep your skin healthy.

That’s why I wanted to share my morning skin care routine; to show that clear, healthy skin can be achieved by using only necessary products. And, it’s nice if you’re on a budget because you will save money if you only have a few select items to buy. Another win-win situation.

When I wake up, I wash my face immediately because I hate the feeling of dirt and oil trapped in my skin. I have been using Cetaphil gentle skin Cleanser for over two years, and I can honestly say that it has kept my skin clear of acne. I use two pumps of the cleanser and wash my face thoroughly with cool water, not necessarily cold, but enough to wake you up in the morning. Next it’s important to pat your face dry with a towel. Never rub your face against a towel. This can irritate your skin and leave you with red blotches on on face.

Everyone has those select few items that they splurge on. I prefer to use drugstore makeup, but when it comes to my face, I am willing to spend the money if it is a quality product.

For example, my two luxury products are from Estee Lauder. First, I apply two pumps of the, Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. This is a great product for minimizing pores. I always apply this before I apply my moisturizer because it’s a great base for my skin. My second Estee Lauder product is the, Day Wear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Cream. This daily moisturizer is great for my skin because it’s SPF 25 and also oil-free.

I have been using the same three products for my morning skin care routine for over two years, and I think that using two or three quality products on your skin is enough to maintain it.

Other Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy:

  1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially during the summer months.
  2. Get some vitamin D (a.k.a SUNLIGHT!)
  3. Stick to a simple, everyday skin care routine.
  4. Always remove makeup at night. This is my most important tip!
  5. Eat a clean, healthy diet filled with fresh foods.
