Hello all, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
As you know, I have been changing aspects of my life to become more physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. For some reason, I’m in the mood for change and I am going to continue creating new healthy changed throughout October.
The one commitment that I have struggled to make is a beauty flaw and I know it caused damage throughout the years.
I washed my hair everyday for over 19 years. Yes, it’s a horrible mistake. But, I am happy to say that I made the beauty commitment to wash my hair every other day. It’s a small step but after almost two weeks, I have noticed differences.
I come from an Italian family and although I was blessed with my Papi’s thick and curly hair; I was cursed with an oily scalp with dried ends. It’s difficult to take care of my hair because I want to hydrate the roots but not the ends of my hair so they can retain the oils that they’re lacking. It’s a tricky combination.
One realization I had from this experience of changing my hair routine is that sock buns and beanies are my best friends. If I feel worried about my hair looking greasy, I put a sock bun in my hair and it hides oils built in my roots. This works similarly with beanies. Not only are they a cute accessory to wear this season, but also they work perfectly if you’re having a lazy day or if you need to cover your roots on your shampoo-free day.
I know I’m the last female to make break this beauty habit, but I’m happy to say that I have seen the fault in my routine and I intend to keep my hair healthy for as long as possible.
I want to know what your bad beauty habits are, and I want to know how you plan to break those habits this month. I officially declared October as the month of change. I will make 10 positive changes to my daily routine and I challenge you to do the same! Write a list of 10 changes that you want to make this month. I will share my list with you all soon.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!
