Happy Halloween, everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. Tonight is the night that all children adore, but for others, Halloween isn’t fun without trick-or-treating and wearing elaborate costumes. If you don’t have any plans for Halloween this year, why not create a Girls Night with your friends!
Here are some of my simple tips and ideas on how to create a flawless, fun and festive Halloween Girls Night!
Have a Halloween cookie exchange with your friends. Instead of waiting until Christmastime for an annual Cookie Exchange Party, why not have one for Halloween this year? Pick a festive cookie cutter (pumpkin, bat, ghost, witch, etc.) and have each friend make that one type so you can all share the different cookies. Or, you can get together and bake all the cookies together and share as you watch Halloween movies all night. It’s okay to treat yourself once in awhile!
We all crave the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, if you haven’t had your fix of this seasonal drink, why not try and do a DIY version of it yourself. It will be cheaper and healthier if you swap certain ingredients. Here is a simple and easy recipe to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte with your friends.
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin OR 1 teaspoon Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup (your choice)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more to garnish
- 1 to 2 shots espresso, about 1/4 cup of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee
- Whipped cream, to garnish
In a saucepan whisk together milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring, until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry about it — just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk.
Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso on top.
Top with whipped cream, if desired, and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or cinnamon on top.
And, of course, we can’t forget about the movies. Have each friend bring one or two of their favorite Halloween movies and have a movie marathon for the night! Some of my favorites are Hocus Pocus and all of the Halloweentown movies from Disney. What are some of your favorite Halloween movies, or scary movies in general? Watch a few movies with your friends, relax and enjoy your cookies and latte, you deserve it!
I hope you enjoyed my simple and festive ideas to have your own Girls Night for Halloween this year. Get together with friends tonight and enjoy yourself, it’s only one night of the year. Stay safe today and I hope you all have a fantastic Halloween. And as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!
