The ultimate acne-fighting face mask

honeyjarAs we move into the beautiful fall season, you might notice changes in your skin. Dry, lifeless, acne-prone skin seems to be a beauty problem for those during this time of year. The good news is there is a simple, inexpensive DIY face mask you can create at home to fix these problems for your skin.

You’ll need:

  • five uncoated aspirin tablets
  • one teaspoon witch hazel
  • one teaspoon honey

Aspirin dries up blemishes because it contains salicylic acid, which fights acne to the core. Witch hazel, I recommend Dickinson’s brand, will work together with the aspirin to tighten pores while the honey gives your skin hydration as it fights acne with its natural-based ingredients. Beauty tip: try to use raw honey. It makes a difference, I promise! Crush the aspirin tablets in the witch hazel and then combine those two ingredients with honey. 300

If you find that you have a lot of acne, use this DIY mask twice a week for a month, then switch to once a week for a month. Make sure to keep this three-ingredient recipe in your beauty DIY arsenal for the next time you see acne break out on your skin.

What DIY face masks have you been loving recently? Make sure to comment any recipes or tweet @BlissBrunette. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you on Wednesday.

  1. I’ve made masks with honey and raw oats, and they smell so good I want to eat them before they go on my face, lol. I can’t wait to try the witch-hazel though!
