Beauty Gift Guide: The Bronze BFF

Products mentioned: St. Tropez Tanning Essentials Face & Body Lotion ($16); Too Faced The Little Black Book of Bronzers ($49); tarte Brazilliance Face And Body Self Tanner ($39); Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze Compact ($36); Fresh Seaberry Exfoliating Soap ($16.50)

If you have best friends who are obsessed with makeup, it’s only natural to get them something beauty related for their birthdays. But after a few years, you begin buying the same items: Bath & Body Works, Sephora gift cards or a new Essie nail polish.

It’s time to switch it up for your bestie.

Summer, especially in 2015, is all about safe tanning and achieving a gorgeous glow without laying in a tanning bed. It only seems natural to help your best friend this summer and pick up some safe-sun products. Here are some of my favorites:

St. Tropez face and body lotion:

Little black book of bronzers:

With eight signature bronzers to choose from, your bestie will have plenty of options for a bronzed look. This is perfect if you’re not sure what bronzer she likes. The more bronzers, the better.

Tarte self tanner:

Bronze compact:

The lightweight formula won’t weight you down during warm summer days. It’s enriches with vitamin E and jojoba oil, which will work wonders for your skin.

Exfoliating soap:

Get rid of dry, dull skin while cleansing the body to reveal a smooth complexion. Before applying self-tanner, use the exfoliating soap to give your skin the smooth, sleek texture you want.

Do you have other self-tanning products for an (almost) summer glow? Make sure to leave your suggestions in the comments!

Summer beauty wish list

Untitled #29

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Today I want to share my summer beauty wish list, which isn’t along list (surprisingly). These are a few of the products I hope to collect throughout the next few months. Leave a comment below or tweet me @BlissBrunette to tell me what your beauty wish list is for summer, or tell me if you’ve tried any of the products I listed below!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm: I don’t like thick, creamy foundations for my skin because it’s too much product and essentially looks horrible regardless of the brand. Thank goodness there are BB/CC creams for those who can’t wear foundation. I’m looking to try this product from Urban Decay hoping it will have lightweight coverage.

Tarte The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer: I’ve noticed many beauty bloggers and YouTube gurus are transferring over to contour sticks for their skin and I’m looking to do the same. It’s amazing what a little contouring can do for your appearance.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm: I own the Just Bitten Balm from Revoln, but I want to try this matte formula because it will be a nice change from normal lipstick for summertime. If you have a color recommendation, please let me know!

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE “Prêt-à-powder” dry shampoo: I saw Ingrid (missglamorazzi) use this in a video and it has been on my list ever since. I am obsessed with dry shampoo and use it religiously, so I’m looking to try new brands.

Moroccan Oil The ORIGINAL Moroccan Oil Treatment: This has been on the list for awhile and I still haven’t bought it. My hair stylist uses this every time she cuts my hair and it makes my hair look incredible. I can’t justify spending the money on an oil treatment.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: Another dry shampoo product I’ve seen many YouTube beauty gurus use. The positive of this product is it’s inexpensive and easily available, but I’m not too sure how the quality will be.

Essie nail polish: I’m always craving summer nail polishes and a lavender/light purple has been a top priority on my wish list for a few months now, but I haven’t found the right shade for my skin type. Fingers crossed so I can find one this summer.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream: My splurge item for this season is, of, course, a Marc Jacobs perfume. I feel like Marc Jacobs just understand my perfume preference and thinks of that when he creates his fragrances because I am obsessed with every perfume he makes.

Let me know what’s on your beauty wish list for summer! I also want to say thank you all so much for 0ver 300 followers on Twitter! It means to much to me. Enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you on Wednesday.

Summer Beauty Necessities

Beauty Necessities for Summer

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!

Today I want to share my summer beauty necessities for hair, face and body because summer is right around the corner and it’s time to begin pampering ourselves for the season.

Volume shampoo and conditioner: Grapefruit and mint cleanse your scalp with this lightweight, body-boosting formula for voluminous hair. After using the shampoo, follow up with the conditioner. Contains 0% Parabens and Silicones.

Hair mask: Smear over dry hair and leave it for 20 minutes before shampooing as normal. The peppermint and seaweed are two of the fresh, natural ingredients to help combat dry hair. Keep in fridge and use product within three weeks.

Moroccan oil: This versatile, nourishing product works great as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool for summertime. It transforms and repairs hair and contains natural vitamins for shine. Perfect for dull, dry hair.

Makeup  remover towelettes: Pack these in your beach bag to refresh your face or body with these natural cleaning towelettes. Perfect for sensitive skin (to see my review on this, click here!)

Waterproof mascara: You all know how much I love The Rocket by Maybelline. Make sure to purchase waterproof mascara for the day-long trips to the beach.

Face mask: Massage onto clean skin until the gel turns white. Leave on for 60 seconds, then rinse for a clean and refreshed feeling. I love that this is gentle enough to use daily!

Body scrub: If you have naturally dry skin, exfoliate with this top-rated scrub, which will remove any dead skin cells and leave your body feeling smooth for summer. $12 if you purchase online.

Body Bronzer: This $18 body bronzer from Victoria’s Secret is great if you want to achieve a summer glow without going to the tanning bed.

What are your summertime beauty necessities? Make sure to tweet @BlissBrunette to let me know what products you can’t live without for the season. Enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you all soon.

Top 10 beauty products

Hello everyone and happy Sunday. Today I want to share my top 10 beauty products of all time. Some products I have recently discovered within the last few months, and others I have used for years. Make sure to leave a comment telling me what you top products are of all time! Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Lotion: Stress Relief eucalyptus spearmint by Bath & Body Works. For $13, I think you’re getting your bang for your buck on this product. It’s calming and soothing on the skin, especially if you apply it before bed.

Cleanser: Cetaphil daily facial cleanser. I love how well this removes any dirt and built-up oils on my skin from a long day. I’ve been using this product for about four years and I’m still hooked.

Mascara: Maybelline the rocket mascara. This will be the 6th time I’ve purchased the rocket mascara. I have yet to try a new formula that I found better than this one. It give me a false-lash look without wearing false lashes.

Oil treatment: Garnier Frucits Moroccan oil treatment. I’ve been using this product since last year and I have noticed a change in the ends of my hair. It’s stronger, shiner and healthier because of this product. If you have problems with frizz, I would recommend this oil treatment. And, it’s only $5.

Concealer: Revlon photoready concealer. I always find myself going back to this concealer because other formulas seem to cake on my skin. I love how well this works on acne and under-eye circles. It works perfect on days when you don’t wear foundation or  BB cream.

Perfume: Polo Ralph Lauren #2. My go-to scent all-year long in the #2 from the Big Pony collection. I am obsessed with this perfume regardless of the season. If you love a versatile scent, I recommend this product.

Lip product: EOS lip balms. I have an addiction to these lip balms. I own every flavor and a few duplicates of them, too. I love how soft they leave my lips and they are great additions to gifts!

Hair tool: Hot tools curling iron.  Everyone has that one hair tool they love. For me, it’s my hot tools curling iron. I can achieve effortless waves in less than eight minutes. I love how many ways you can style your hair with this one tool.

Nail Polish: Essie Coral. Coral is my first choice for nail polish, especially in spring and summer. Most days, from March to October, you’ll find this color on my nails. I am in love with the coral options by Essie.

Eyeshadow palette: Naked 3. Everyone and their mother has raved about the new Naked palette. I love how compatible the palette is with my skin tone and eye color. It’s a perfect fit for my taste in eyeshadow and I love the pigmentation of the product as well. Although it’s a little pricey, it’s worth the splurge.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post. Enjoy the rest of your day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

Winter Nail Colors You Need!

Winter Nails
Happy Saturday and cheers to the weekend! Hopefully you all are enjoying your weekend so far and if not, then set aside some time today to relax because you deserve it. Today I wanted to write a post about some winter nail colors that I keep in my arsenal of polishes for the holidays. I love having my set of go-to nail colors picked out and ready for whenever I decide to change my polish throughout the winter months.

These colors will work perfectly for the upcoming holidays and for the winter season. As you can tell, I prefer Essie and O.P.I., but you can pick these similar colors in any brand you choose.

1. O.P.I: Haven’t the Foggiest

  • A perfect neutral, silver-based color that will compliment perfectly with navy, red or gold.

2. Essie: Stroke of Brilliance

  • The ultimate shade of blue with added sparkles to make your nails glisten like the snow.

3. O.P.I: Big Apple Red

  • The go-to Christmas color for the season that you can mix-and-match with green for a festive look.

4. Essie: As Gold As It Gets

  • Gold and sparkles bring together the perfect nail color to ring in the new year.

5. Essie: Toggle to the Top

  • A dramatic, feminine shade to bring Christmas cheer to anyone who catches a glimpse of your decorative nails.

6. O.P.I: Over the Taupe

  • When you need a break from bold, holiday colors, wear this neutral taupe to calm yourself from the hustle and bustle of the season.

7. Essie: After School Boy Blazer

  • If you prefer a navy, then this polish was designed for you. Simple, classy and elegant reflect the color of this shade.

8. O.P.I: Black Cherry Chutney

  • A perfect pick for Thanksgiving. Your nails will serve as the dinner conversation in this gorgeous deep-plum color.

What nail polish is you favorite? Comment number 1 through 8 to let me know. What are some of your favorite winter nail colors? Do you prefer Essie or O.P.I? I would love to read your thoughts and opinions.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Saturday and as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Beauty Product Wish List

Beauty Product Wish List

Hey Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your week. Only one more day until the weekend begins, so hang in there and make the most of it.

I apologize for being MIA the last two days. College can definitely control my life in ways that I didn’t think were possible, so to make up for my laziness on my blog, I decided to created a rather long and detailed post.

Today, I wanted to share a list of beauty products that I hope to purchase within the next few months. I definitely have quite a long list of them, and I know there are more that I haven’t mentioned. I tried my best to list the products starting with foundation and continue in a clockwise rotation. (Just in case you were you wondering which product I am talking about).

Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation:

  • When I saw that that this product existed, I felt excited and confused all at once because I have yet to see a foundation in stick form. I actually give props to Maybelline by thinking outside the box and trying something new. I have always loved Maybelline products, and I am sure that this once won’t be different.

Maybelline Eye Studio Baked Eye Shadow Due:

  • I can’t lie, I honestly think that I want this product solely because I love how pretty the colors are in the mix. I think that the gold and pink mixed together would work perfectly together. And, I swear by Maybelline eyeshadow, they are a good quality makeup product even though it is at a drugstore price.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine Perfume:

  • One thing I will splurge on: perfume. I love it. I love smelling good, I love have a variety of scents to choose from on a day-to-day basis. Basically, perfume is the one product I have no problem spending money on. I have wanted this Marc Jacobs perfume for quite some time now. I love how light and airy the smell is in addition to how long the scent lasts throughout the day.

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara:

  • I may or may not have an obsession with mascara, and although I have only bought Maybelline mascara is the past, however I am willing to try new products every now and then. I have read and watched a million reviews about this mascara and they were all very positive. So, hopefully when I buy it I will have similar luck.

Essie (Twin Sweater):

  • This is the PERFECT color that I would wear during fall. It’s a warm color that will work well with different looks. I have been searching high and low for this shade of red, wine-colored nail polish. And, I trust Essie brand for my nails. I also like that they aren’t too overpriced. Some brands can be ridiculous when it comes to prices, and I think Essie is the middle-of-the-road cost. Can I also mention that the name of the polish describes fall in a nutshell.

Maybellibe Color Tattoo Eyeshadow:

  • This eyeshadow is another product that I have read countless positive reviews about. I love the texture that Maybelline created in this product. Not only is it unique, but also from the reviews that I have seen, it lasts well throughout the day, which are two important factors that I take into consideration before purchasing an eyeshadow.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs So Fresh Perfume:

  • Everyone loves Daisy. Actually, everyone is obsessed with Daisy. I have walked by this scent in the mall numerous times and I have contemplated buying it more times that I can count. And, I fall in love with it time and time again. It has been on my wish list for months, so it is my mission to have this perfume by the end of the fall season. Trust me, it will happen. I will be broke but I will be happy and broke.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion:

  • I know that everyone and their mother has bought, used, and raved about this primer. However, I never officially joined this bandwagon since it has been popular, so I thought that now would be a great time to join the fan train. And, I ran out of my primer a few months ago and I realize a significant difference in my eye makeup since I stopped using it. So, now I am out looking for a new brand.

Essie (Saturday Disco Fever):

  • I love cobalt blue. It’s a gorgeous color to wear. And for some reason, I want to buy it. I don’t think it will look good on me and I am not sure if I would even wear it often, but I want to join the cobalt blue nail trend for the winter months. I don’t necessarily like the name of the polish, but I am a fan of Essie nail products so it’ll be fine.

Coach Poppy Freesia Blossom:

  • Yes, I know my addiction to perfume is very evident in this post, but in my defense, I haven’t purchased a perfume in a very long time. And, by a long time I mean since my birthday, which was less than six months ago. Okay, I suppose it’s fair to say I have a problem. I currently have the Coach Poppy perfume, but the Freesia Blossom scent smells incredible, delicious and wonderful in more ways than one. So, it’s necessary that I buy it along with my two Marc Jacobs’ perfumes.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner:

  • I have been on the hunt for a good liquid eyeliner for a very long time. I have never been happy with the liquid eyeliners that I have purchased in the past. So, finding a good quality liner is essential for me this fall. If anyone has suggestions about brands that they prefer for eyeliner, please let me know! Because I have struggles to find an eyeliner that I love.

I hope you all forgive me for not posting the last two days. When school work piles up, I have to remember that I am a student first. As much as I love sharing outfit ideas and beauty product suggestions with you all, I need to have a degree first. So, thank you for understanding! I hope you all enjoy the weekend, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Updated Fall Makeup Routine!

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the week so far. I don’t know what the weather is like whenever you live, but all I can say is that the weather is incredibly bipolar here in New York. One day, it’s pouring rain and a few hours later it’s 88 degrees. I cannot contend with Mother Nature’s wrath right now.

Aside from my tangent…Today I am going to be sharing my updated makeup routine that I use in fall. I believe my last everyday makeup routine was in June or July, and believe me when I say that my routine changes a lot when the season changes.

In summer, I prefer not to wear makeup. Summer is the perfect opportunity to clear my face for three months before I return to my horrific makeup habits for fall. I realize that I use more products on my skin, which I know isn’t healthy, but I can’t help myself.

Before I go off on any more tangents, let’s get started! And, I will list the products in order that I use them.

Concealer: Revlon Photoready

I always start with concealer in the morning because we don’t want anyone to see those dark circles that are plastered under our eyes. So, I just swipe a little bit of the Revlon Phototready concealer and no one can tell that I haven’t slept for days. I use the shade 002 Light.

BB Cream: Revlon Photoready

I have tried numerous BB Creams, however I always find myself repurchasing this specific product. I am in love with the coverage of it, and how well it applies to my skin. I use the shade 030 Medium for my skin tone.

Powder: Revlon Nearly Naked

I never found a press powder that I could say that worked well for my skin. Some press powders make my skin look dull and dry, whereas other products won’t work well enough and my skin would look oily throughout the day. The Revlon Nearly Naked press powder is the first powder that I have used where I truly feel comfortable with my skin. I apply this after my BB Cream to set it in my skin. I use the shade 010 Fair.

Bronzer: Revlon Photoready

As you all can probably tell, I may or may not have a slight addiction to Revlon face products. But, that is only because I feel that they work the best for my combination complexion. I have been using this bronzer for the about five months, and I am still in love with the product. I use the shade 100 Bronzed & Chic. I swipe this to contour my cheekbones and my temples. I love having a glow to my skin even though summer is gone.

Eyeshadow: Maybelline Modern Metallics

Recently, I picked up a new eyeshadow palette from Maybelline and I can honestly say that it is the perfect combination of colors for the fall. My eyes are an awkward mix of light brown, green and gold, so warmer colors look best with my eyes. I love the golden shade that is included in the palette, it’s stunning. I always find myself repurchasing Maybelline eye palettes because they work well for me. I start with the base color all over my lid. Then, I apply the gold color to highlight my crease and blend the colors together. It is definitely one of my favorite products for fall.

Eyebrows: Elizabeth Arden Brow Shaper

I have talked about this product before during the summertime, but now I can tell you my honest opinion about it since it has been a few months since I have started using it. I prefer to use this than a brow pencil because I feel that it makes my brows loo more natural and less like, “wow-you-can-totally-tell-that-you-fill-in-your-brows” look. Although it was a little pricy, I think have a few good-quality makeup products is never a bad thing.

Eyeliner: Elizabeth Arden Bold Eye Pencil

I have been using this eye pencil recently just for my waterline. I constantly switch back-and-forth with wearing liquid eyeliner along my lash line, and pencil eyeliner on my waterline. I can’t decide which one I prefer more. But, I suppose it’s always good to switch it up, right? I love how big this eyeliner is because it will last for awhile, and I just think it looks adorable.

Mascara: Maybelline The Colossal

I know that this particular mascara has been out for awhile now, but I noticed that I always have one on hand as back-up mascara during the fall. I have no idea why that is, but this mascara has always worked very well for me. I love that it doesn’t clump my lashes together and I love the shape of the brush. I don’t think I have ever used a different brand of mascara other than Maybelline. I don’t know what it is about them, I just always love my Maybelline mascaras.

Lip product: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Blam Stain

Last, but certainly not least, the lip product. I recently did a product review on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain and I have been loving this product for fall. It’s the perfect shade of fushia, and I always receive compliments for the gorgeous color. If you haven’t tried this product yet, I suggest you drive to Target and pick one up because they’re wonderful. The shade that I am currently using is 020, Lovesick.

I hope you all enjoyed reading how I have updated my makeup routine from summer to fall. I definitely wear more makeup during fall and winter, but at least it gives me an opportunity to try out different products. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

DIY Creations: Berry-Yogurt Mask

Hello, everyone! Today was one of those days where nothing seemed to go as planned. Well, to start, I was feeling ill with a fever and ear infection. So, after waiting for a longer-than-normal doctor visit and trip to CVS for antibiotics, I am starting to feel a little bit better. But, I didn’t want my health to be an excuse to not write up a blog post. So, I decided to do a little experiment with some ingredients and try out a new face mask!

What You’ll Need:

  • Mixed Berries
  • Yogurt
  • Honey
  • Fresh Lemon Juice
  • A Blender

Step One:

Combine two tablespoons of plain yogurt and two tablespoons honey in a blender. Pulse until the ingredients are well-mixed.

Step Two:

Add 1/4 cup mixed berries to blender and puree until smooth. After, add one tablespoon of lemon juice.

Step Three:

Apply mixture to a clean, dry face with your hands. Let mask sit 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse face thoroughly with warm water and softly pat dry.

I love how calm and refreshing the mask feels on my face. I definitely notice a difference when using these active ingredients that help to maintain your skin’s overall health. There are many beneficial aspects to using these four simple products. And, they are normally in your fridge, but if you don’t have one, they are cheap enough to purchase at your local market.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on another DIY Creation. I love trying out different at-home remedies that are beneficial for my skin, especially if they’re organic ingredients. It’s satisfying to know that you can make simple at-home face masks to treat you skin as opposed to buying a $15 product at a market that will contain harsh chemicals.

If you haven’t tried out this face mask, I encourage you to try it next time you have a half-hour to treat yourself to some at-home beauty. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

DIY Creations: Lip Scrub

Good Afternoon, Everyone! I hope you all are having a lovely weekend. I know the last few days have been a little more hectic than usual for me, but I still try to update you all as often as I can. Today, I wanted to write a second “DIY Creations” post on a homemade sugar scrub that you can make for your lips.

Whether you decide to use this for summer or winter, I think it’s great to use lip scrubs when the seasons begin to change. As of right now, we are still in summer mode. However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start preparing for the autumn months that are right around the corner. Sometimes, you can prevent lips from chapping by applying lip scrubs now.

The only problem I have with lip scrubs is that they are all incredibly expensive. So, being a broke college student, I need to find ways of saving money in any way possible. That being said, I have been using these beauty DIY projects to save money, and have a little fun creating homemade beauty products.

Not only is this a simple and easy product to make, but also, it’s very affordable too. You can most likely find these ingredients in your house already. If not, they are cheap enough to purchase at your local market. Enjoy!

Let’s get started!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of Vaseline
  • 1 spoon to mix
  • 1 small container

  • Mix honey and sugar with the spoon into a paste-like consistency inside of your mixing bowl. You don’t want it to be soupy! Make sure that you apply enough sugar as needed.
  • Add the oil and Vaseline and gently combine with both the honey and sugar. One at a time! Don’t mix all of the ingredients at once.
  • Store the lip scrub and use about two times a week. Apply to lips until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Rise lips with lukewarm water.

It’s that easy (and cheap, too).

I hope that you all enjoyed today’s post on another DIY creation that you can make at home. This will be a great way to prevent your lips from chapping during autumn, and it’s a product that you no longer need to purchase from the store. Looking good and saving money; two very good things in my book. Let me know if you try this scrub; I love hearing about what you all think of these creations.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend, and as always, I will talk to you all soon, Bye!

DIY Creations: Avocado Mask

Good Evening, everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. Wow, it’s been awhile since I have uploading this late in the evening. And, I do apologize for my tardiness. I hope my new addition to my blog, “DIY Creations” will make up for it.

I love adding new ideas to expand the contents of my blog. I think it’s great to have a space that’s diverse and unique, especially regarding content.

Today, I wanted to kick-off my new section of my blog by talking about a great face mask that will nourish your skin throughout the upcoming months. With the change of August to September quickly approaching, it’s important to keep your skin well-nourished throughout the changing seasons.

So, this mask will do just that for your skin. And, the ingredients can be found around your house already, or can be purchased for very cheap at your local grocery shop. Not to mention, it’s very quick and easy to make whenever you feel that your face needs a little pick-me-up during the week. My suggestion: have these ingredients on hand in case. You never know when an impromptu-at-home facial will be necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 Ripe Avocado
  • 1 Teaspoon of Honey
  • 1 Teaspoon of Greek Yogurt

  • Take your 1/2 of ripe avocado and cut it in half. Spoon out the avocado into a mixing bowl and mix gently.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of honey and combine with the avocado.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of Greek yogurt and mix together until the ingredients form a paste-like consistency.
  • Apply generously to skin and neck for 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

It’s as simple as that! I have been loving DIY face masks recently, especially with the warm weather. It’s feel great to have a pick-me-up to hydrate my skin.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on my newest section of DIY on my blog. I would love to hear your feedback on this, and if you have any suggestions of what you would like to see, let me know in the comments below. And, as always, I hope you all had a lovely day and I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Target Haul: Hair Products, Makeup and More!

Good Afternoon! I know I am a little late on uploading this post, but I went to Target earlier today and I ended up purchasing a lot more than I planned. However, at least I have my material for the day for a blog post.

As you can tell, I purchased a lot of different hair products, makeup and random items as well. Mind you, I went to Target to buy a lamp, not the entire store. But, from the pictures: I bought a lot more than anticipated. This is going to be a long haul, so I divided the items up into three categories: Hair Products, Face Products and Random Items. I’ll have three pictures of each category before listing off the items individually.

Let’s get started!

Category One: Hair Products

The two first items I purchased are the Herbal Essences “None of your Frizzness” Anti-Frizz shampoo and conditioner. I have used this shampoo and conditioner combination before, and it did work well for me. I decided to pick it up because they were marked down at Target for $2.99. And, I love how refreshing the smell of the shampoo and conditioner is!

Next, I purchased the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Perfector. I have never used the heat protector spray from Garnier Fructis, but I love that it has argan oil added into it’s formal, which is very healthy for your hair. So, not only are your protecting your hair from the heat, but also giving your hair an essential oil that will keep your lovely locks looking luscious all year long.

I repurchased the Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Mousse for my hair because I find that this product works the best with my thick, Italian hair. It holds my curls all day long, and the smell is pleasant compared to other brands I have tried.

Also from Herbal Essences, I purchased their set me up hairspray, which I have never used before. But, from my experience with Herbal Essences products in the past, I am sure that this one will be just as good as their other hair products.

The next product I repurchased is the Garnier Fructis is the Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-in conditioner cream. I have been using this product on the ends of my hair all throughout the summertime, and I can see a significant difference in my hair. It manages my frizzy hair, and keep my hair looking shiny throughout the day.

Finally, I picked up another set of the Garnier Fructis Pure Clean fortifying shampoo and conditioner. I love this shampoo and conditioner combo for multiple reasons, and I posted a review blog a few days ago on them. So, I won’t say too much about them!

Category Two: Face Products

Some of these products are repurchased items because there are some makeup items I love so much that I cannot part ways with them. So, I apologize in advanced if I have mentioned these products a million times in the past.

First, I bought (for the fourth time) the Maybelline The Rocket mascara because I find that this mascara gives me the most fake-eyelash-look-alike. And, I never have to use a eyelash curler when I apply this mascara in the morning.

Next, I repurchased my Neutrogena makeup remover night calming cleansing towelettes, and I think I raved about these enough for one millennium. But, for those who don’t read my posts often, I love these specifically because they don’t irritate my skin or eyes, which are both extremely sensitive.  So, if you have the same skin sensitivity as I do, I recommend this makeup remover.

Also, I purchased two of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in two different colors. The first color is in the shade 020, which is Lovesick. I know I am extremely late on the bandwagon for this lip product, but I finally have the chance to buy them and I cannot wait to try them out! If you have used this product before, let me know what you think of them.

Also from Revlon, I repurchased two products from their Photoready collection. First, the Photoready BB Cream in the shade 30 medium. And, the Photoready Concealer in the shade 002 light. I have loved using these products because they look amazing on my skin. I love that feeling of not having thick makeup on my face, but I also know that both products give amazing coverage that last all throughout the day.

The next product I purchased is a small eyeshadow palette from Maybelline. It is the Maybelline Expert Wear  Modern Metallics in the shade 22Q Chai Latte. I love these mini eyeshadow palletes from Maybelline because they last well on my eyes throughout the day, and they are gorgeous color combinations at a bargain price–you can’t beat it! Although, this is the first time I bought this specific palette, I am sure I will love it just the same as my other palettes from Maybelline

Finally, I purchased a to-go pack of my Neutrogena make-up remove cleansing towelettes. This pack contains seven wipes, and I think it’s great to throw in your purse or to have on hand if you need a little pick-me-up during the day if you’re out at the beach, or out doing any activity.

Category Three: Random Products

First, I bought another pair of the Target canvas shoes in the color grey. I know everyone, I have taken this obsession with these shoes too far, and I truly need to check myself into a rehabilitation center, but I can’t help myself. These shoes are by far the most comfortable, cute and versatile shoes I have ever owned. And, I am firm believer in if you love something that you should wear it as often as possible, and own it in every color.

The next item I purchased is the Caress evenly gorgeous body wash. I am all about smelling good, and this body wash is one of the most heavenly smells ever. It smells warm and cozy like shea butter, vanilla and brown sugar, which is a perfect combination to have for the autumn season coming up soon. I honestly bought this because of the smell, and I am okay with admitting that.

Also, I just picked up my Secret clear gel deodorant. Personally, I am a gel deodorant girl because I like that streak marks don’t show up on my clothes. And, I am also a huge fan of this specific scent: cocoa butter kiss. It honestly smells like a tropical vacation underneath your arms, which is kind of cool and weird at the same time. But, at least you smell delicious.

The last item in my haul is my Poketo weekly/monthly planner that I bought for the upcoming school year. I am still in college, and I have an obsession with staying organized, so my planner for the year is like my little baby. I need to have one on me at all times in order to stay sane.

Wow, that was a lot…

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on my huge Target haul that I did this morning. As you can see, there was quite a bit of damage done in an hour, but at least I will be set on products for a few months. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day and yes it is finally Friday, so cheers to the weekend. Enjoy and I will talk to you all soon, bye!

Elizabeth Arden Skin Care Routine

Good Morning! Today I was going contemplating on what to do for today’s post. After a million ideas rushed in and out of my mind, I decided on writing about my updated skin care routine.

After using products from Estee Lauder for over two years, I made the decision to switch up my routine and try a new set of skin care products. And, I mist admit that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I never thought that I would be this happy over my skin, so that’s why I wanted to share these products with you all.

Quick Disclaimer: Elizabeth Arden is not sponsoring this post–all opinions are my own. I will list links for the products as they are mentioned.

The first step of my skin care routine remains the same. I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, which can be purchased at any local store. I am still in love with this cleanser, and I don’t think I will every give it up because of the difference it has made for my skin.

Next, I use the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Toner for combination skin. This toner specifically has kept my skin pH balance regular and has helped to improve it since I have been using this product. I apply this toner with a cotton pad after cleansing my face. A little goes a long way with this toner, so don’t pour heaps of it onto your skin. This product is listed for $20.00 and can be viewed from the link listed below:

Skin Balancing Toner:,default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=toners

After, I apply one pump of the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Optimizing Skin Serum to my skin. This skin serum gives my face a vitalizing lift in the morning. It helps to minimize my pores, and maintain my skin’s overall healthy glow throughout the day. I love that you only need one pump of this serum to see a difference in your skin. Purchasing a product that you know will last a long time is great felling. This product is listed for $49.50 and can be viewed from the link listed below:

Optimizing Skin Serum:,default,pd.html?navid=xsellcshop

Finally, I finish off my morning skin care routine by applying the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Lotion with SPF 15 for combination skin. This moisturizer keeps my skin well-hydrated throughout the day without leaving my skin oily with residue. I find that other lotions leave my pores clogged with oil, and that will do more harm than good for my skin. Finding a perfect moisturizer that will hydrate my skin and protect it at the same time is something that I didn’t have before using this product. So, needless to say, I’m thankful for coming across this skin care line. This product is listed for $39.50 and can be viewed from the link listed below:

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on my updated skin care routine, and I hope that you all enjoy the rest of the day today. And, as always, I will talk to you all soon!

I <3 Summer: TAG!

Hello everyone! I apologize for not posting recently. The last few days have flown by and I didn’t realize how hectic this trip would be. However, I will promise to make it up to you all. First, I am going to start by doing the I ❤ Summer Tag, which is from the YouTube beauty Guru, Ingrid or also known as missglamorazzi. I love finding new and interesting tag posts to do for my blog and I thought that this was very appropriate for the season, so lets get started.

1. Favorite bronzer for summer?

I have been using Revlon’s Photoready bronzer, which has worked incredibly well on my skin. As I have mentioned before, I have sensitive, combination skin, which means that some areas of my face are oily and some areas are dry. And, my skin reacts easily to certain products depending on the contents on the product. So, it’s important that I am conscious on what products I apply to my skin. I recommend this bronzer from Revlon because not only is it a drugstore product that isn’t expensive, but also because it works well with different skin types.

2. You’re relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favorite summer drink)

Normally, I am boring when it comes to drinks because I always have water. But, if I had to pick a certain drink, I would choose Arizona Peach Ice Tea. I could have multiple cans of this ice tea a day and I still wouldn’t get tired of drinking it. It’s 99 cents, it’s a HUGE portion, and it is delicious. So, it’s a win-win situation for summer. If you have never had Arizona Peach Ice Tea, I will buy you every flavor and send them all to you in a package. That’s how great they are. Just try it. Please.
3. Favorite summer lip product?

I have been obsessed with the Maybelline Color Whisper lip product all summer long. It has become a bit of a problem recently, but I cannot help myself. This summer alone, I have bought four of them and have used most them already. It is safe to say that I need to receive medical attention for my addiction. I love that they are moisturizing, but still give gorgeous color that last well throughout the day.

4. Pool or Beach?

As much as I love sitting out in my backyard by my pool, I would have to choose beach. I love being near the sand, and nothing is better that hearing the waves of the water crash against the shore. It is the perfect way to spend a summer day. Basking in the sun while reading a book is one of my all-time favorite ways to spend my summer vacation.
5. Summer = crazy hair! What’s your must-have styling product?

My must-have styling product is Herbal Essences Mousse. I try my best to not apply heat to my hair throughout the summer because my hair receives enough heat from being outside in the sun all day. So, after my shower in the morning, I will take some of the product and distribute it evenly throughout my hair. It works well if your hair has curls to it, and this products keeps my frizzy hair tamed during the warm summer months.
6. Sun bathing or fake tan?

Definitely sun bathing. Laying out in the sun on a gorgeous summer day is how I relax. Although laying out in the sun is just as bad as fake tanning, I still believe there are some health benefits to receiving that extra dose of vitamin D. I like to pick out a book and read while I lay out during the day.
7. Favorite summer nail polish?

My favorite summer nail polish is Purple Panic by China Glaze (Color 1008). I wear this color religiously on my toes as well as my nails during the summertime. I think it’s the perfect shade for summer without being too overwhelming of a color. As much as I love neon, I think it’s nice to have a color that works well with your skin tone and isn’t too dramatic.

8. Any summer traditions?

Not really. Every summer is different for me, so it’s nice not knowing what to expect during vacation, or plan an unexpected road trip. I am a firm believer that spontaneity creates some of the best memories. So, I try to keep my vacation open for new ideas and adventures.
9. Favorite summer scent?

I love summer scents, so this is a difficult one for me to choose from. But, if I had to choose a scent it would be Rio Rumberry from Bath & Body Works. I love how tropical and exotic this scent is for summertime. I love having the full collection including the body wash, lotion and mist, so my body permeates of this scent.

10. Favorite BBQ food?

Pasta salad is definitely an obsession of mine. I would be lying if I said that I haven’t eaten an entire bowl of pasta salad in one sitting, but I have. So, that just proves how much I love pasta. Another favorite of mine is corn on the cob. Summertime is the only chance I have to eat fresh corn on the cob, so whenever it is available, I will have at least two or three of them before I feel satisfied. And, if I could add one more favorite, it would be Shish Kabobs on the grill. I know I have a lot of favorite foods, but I love food a lot and I love to eat a lot. So, don’t hold it against me.

11. What’s your favorite summer-proof product?

My favorite summer-proof product is the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream because I have frizzy, damaged hair, so this product works perfect in your hair if you have a similar issue. I apply this cream evenly to the ends of my hair every three days. Not only does it tame my hair, but it also leave my hair soft and luscious throughout the day.
12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!

My only plans for summer were to work and attend the current three-week-work trip I am on currently. And, this experience so far has been one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my summer vacation. I have the opportunity to meet amazing people and spend a lot of time with them, so we all became close over the last two weeks. But, I am sad to say that I leave a week from today. However, we come back in a month, so I cannot wait to see everyone again.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! And, I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. Have a lovely day and I will talk to you all soon.

My All-Time Favorite: Nail Polishes (Summer Version)

Hello, Everyone! I hope you all are having a great start to the weekend. Today I wanted to share my all-time favorite nail polishes. I’m not allowed to have my nails painted for work, but there are days where I decide to say, “meh” to the rules and paint my nails regardless.

All of the nail polishes listed will be in order from left to right in the picture, with the number and name of the polish. All of my favorite polishes are from China Glaze, and I purchased them all from Target. And, if you all couldn’t tell from the picture, I love colors that are in the pink-purple range, so I apologize for not being diverse in my color scheme.

Let’s get started!

094: Naked: I love this color for a basic, light pink color that isn’t too dramatic, but adds a little color to my nails throughout the summertime. Also, I love that this color can be carried over into other seasons throughout the year. It’s the perfect everyday nail color.

873: Flip Flop Fantasy: This color is a coral-based nail polish that looks fantastic with a tan. The way I judge whether or not my tan is good enough is when the color looks good on my nails. And, thankfully, it does look good on my now, so I must have a great tan so far this summer.

1006: Pink Voltage (neon): This color also comes in the non-neon version, but I loved how dramatic, bold and bright this color is for summer. I prefer to wear this color on my toes because it is so dramatic, I don’t want people to think I am a walking neon sign. Literally, they glow in the dark (just kidding, but it’s pretty close)!

872: Pool Party: Another dramatic nail color that works perfect for the summer months. I love using this as a base coat for my nails, and then I will layer a polish over it that has sparkles on it to tone it down, but still give it a bold look.

1008: Purple Panic: This nail polish is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE nail polish EVER! I think that I have been using this polish repeatedly throughout the year on my toes for the last year, and I am not tired of the color. Also, I love how well it works with my skin tone because purple compliments my olive skin, which is why I fell in love with this color.

1011: Flying Dragon (neon): What I love about this color is that there a little specks of blue sparkles in the bottle, so during the summertime, when the sun reflects against your nails or toenails, there is an extra shimmer to your polish. It is stunning for the summertime.  But, it also works well if you want to use it for autumn because it is a deeper purple color.

1007: Turned up Turquoise: Finally, last but not least, my only polish that isn’t in the pink-purple range. I love wearing this color in the summer. I purchased this last year in the summer and wore it on my nails all of June, July and August. And, I plan on painting my nails with this color sometime this week. It’s a great, thick color that is true to color.

I hope you all enjoyed looking at my all-time favorite nail polishes today. Enjoy the day, and I will see you all soon, Bye!

June Favorites

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that you’re all rested up for another Monday. I have to admit that I was very excited to post my monthly favorites for the month of June, which is why I decided to post it today instead of next week when June was over. So, hopefully you are all okay with this post for today!

Let’s get started.

Revlon PhotoReady bronze powder: So, I purchased this bronze powder in the beginning of May, and I have been loving it to contour my face for the summertime. The palette isn’t too overwhelming, but it applies great coverage for a sun-kissed effect to your skin. For the summer months, I don’t use foundation of any kind because I like to give my skin a break with the heat, so I just apply the powder to the hallows of my cheeks to give my skin an extra burst of glow.

Maybelline Color Whisper: I mentioned this lip product in my last monthly favorites post, but I am still in love with it for the month of June. The color is number 50 in the shade, “Cherry on Top.” The sheer color that the Color Whispers have is great if you don’t want a drastic lip color, but you can still build the color up to create a bold lip. Also, I love how moisturizing this is on my lips, it keeps them hydrated all throughout the day and the color lasts relatively well, too.

Maybelline Rocket mascara: Another duplicate from my last monthly favorites post…I’m sorry everyone, but this mascara is by far the BEST product I have used on my eyes EVER! And that’s still an understatement for how awesome this mascara is. You’ve heard my rants about this product, so I won’t repeat myself, but if you haven’t tried this mascara yet…please go to your local drugstore and purchase one. Pretty please with sugar on top, I promise you won’t regret it.

Victoria’s Secret, “Incredibly Daring” perfume: I’m not going to lie, I originally purchased this perfume because of the price and packaging of the product. Last year, during the semi-annual sale, I saw this perfume in one of the bins for 60% off…like, how do you say no to that? And, it has the classic pump spray, which is unique and gorgeous. The smell of this perfume is very sweet and fruity for summertime: definitely a plus, and the fragrance isn’t too overwhelming to wear throughout the year. It’s the perfect perfume!

Herbal Essences, Set Me Up mousse: I am extremely lazy in the summertime when it comes to my hair.  I applaud those who are capable of waking up and taking the time to straighten or curl their hair on a daily basis. Most days, I personally don’t like to apply heat because I don’t want to damage my hair too often. So, after washing my hair, I will add mousse the ends of the hair and massage it in. This works well for me because my hair is naturally wavy, so it adds to my natural curl that I have in my hair.

Rose Gold Fossil Watch: I’m surprised that I didn’t add this in my last monthly favorites post, but at least I remembered for the month of June. This watch was s gift for my nineteenth birthday in April from my parents. I am OBSESSED with the colored-diamond detailing around the edges of the watch, it is gorgeous with the rose gold color. I have been wearing this watch everyday since I received it two months prior, and I am in love with how great it looks against my tan skin in the summer.

American Eagle belt: During my winter recital, I lost my favorite belt from American Eagle during one of the shows, and I felt devastated. I wore that belt almost everyday for a year, and it was the perfect shade of brown. Rest in Peace to that belt, wherever it may be. But, after the loss of an amazing accessory, I purchased this belt on sale at American Eagle for twelve dollars, and I think I have fallen in love with this belt. The rose gold studded detailing is great with my watch for the summer, and I am happy that I found a belt that looks great and could replace my lost belt.

DSW cross-body bag: I purchased this cross-body bag two summers ago from DSW on sale for twenty dollars. I remember wearing it a lot when I first purchased it, then I rediscovered it while cleaning out my closet when I came home from college, and I have been wearing it all summer. I love the pink and orange tribal-print pattern on the bag, it’s bold, bright and lovely for the summer.

I want to know what YOUR favorites are for the month of June. I love seeing what beauty and fashion products other people are interested in, so let me know in the comments below what you have been loving this month!

I hope everyone has an awesome start to the week, and enjoy the rest of your day.

My All-Time-Favorite: Perfumes!

Good Afternoon, Everyone! Hope you’re all having an awesome day today. Today I wanted to start a new stream of posts called, “All-time-Favorites.” For my first post, I wanted to share my all-time-favorite perfumes.

Juste Un Basier: I bought this perfume on my trip to a perfume factory in Nice, France two years ago, and I have used it only for special occasions. I will be lost the day that I use up the two bottles of this perfume. The perfume is sweet but heavy, so a little definitely goes a long way when I wear this scent for a special evening.

Coach Poppy: This is my go-to perfume for the weekends because I like to try and keep my scents consistent for the week. So, I’ll switch off between two perfumes throughout the week, and I’ll have another perfume for the weekend. It’s easy to remember which one I used throughout the week, and I can always keep track of how much I use. Coach Poppy is a great scent for the summertime, is a light-weight scent that will last during the day. I highly recommend this perfume.

Victoria’s Secret, Incredibly Daring: I picked up this scent last summer at the Victoria’s Secret Semi Annual Sale for about twenty dollars. I am happy to say that this was a good purchase and a steal for only $20. I love the packaging of the perfume because of pink and blue contrast of the handle and bottle. The colors make me think of cotton candy, which definitely reminds me of summer, so I automatically categorize this scent with summer. I switch off between this fragrance and my Ralph Lauren fragrance during the week, and I have been loving them both for the summertime specifically.

Polo Ralph Lauren #2: And, of course, I saved the best for last. I am OBSESSED with the Polo Ralph Lauren #2 perfume. I featured this scent in my May Favorites post not too long ago. Not only did the pink bottle attract my eye, but also, the smell is absolutely AMAZING. It’s the 100% perfect summer scent. It’s fruity and delicious and I wish I could eat it because that’s how good it smells. But, don’t worry guys, I won’ be eating Ralph Lauren perfume anytime soon. However, if you’re looking for a new scent to wear for the summer season, I definitely recommend looking into the #2. There are three other numbers in the collection, each defining a different type of fragrance. So, if you’re not interested in #2, try smelling the other scents, I am certain you will fall in love with one of the four. I promise!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! I want to know some of your favorite fragrances. And, if you’d like to see more of these posts, let me know in the comments below. I hope you all have a great day. And hang in there, it’s almost Friday!

My Essential Hair Products

Good Afternoon, Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far. Today, I wanted to do a post about my essential hair products.

I have a simple philosophy concerning products: less is more, and have a simple skin, makeup and hair routine is more beneficial then hoarding hundreds of products.

For me, I like to have a select few products that I believe keep my hair healthy and maintained.

Shampoo: Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Fortifying Shampoo. This product is by far my favorite shampoo that I have used recently. For the last two years, I have been obsessed with hair products from Herbal Essences, but I decided for the summertime that I should change up my hair routine. I love the smell of this shampoo because it smells like a fruit smoothie that you’re washing your hair with. It’s amazing!

Disclaimer: I don’t wash my hair with smoothies, so don’t worry everyone: I’m still sane.

Conditioner: Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Fortifying Conditioner. With this product, I only apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair, not my scalp. My hair is dry at the ends, but more greasy at my roots. So, I find it’s easier to maintain if I only apply conditioner to the ends of my hair. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated for the day.

The combination of this shampoo and conditioner together feels revitalizing on my scalp when I wash my hair in the morning. And, the smell lingers throughout the day, which is great because I constantly ask which hair products I use, and everyone comments on how my hair smells.

Leave-in conditioner: I have been loving the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-in Conditioning Cream (Wow, that was a mouth full.) I love this product because I don’t need to apply it everyday to notice the effects of the product. So, I apply the leave-in conditioner every three days, and it will still show incredible shine in my hair on the days that I don’t apply it to my hair. My suggestion for this product it to only apply a dime-sized portion of it and evenly distribute it throughout your hair. Trust me guys, a little goes a long way with this product. And, if you apply too much, you might find that your hair will be greasy, and that’s just not good.

Mousse: Herbal Essence Set me up Mousse. I have been buying this mousse product from Herbal Essence for about two years, and I don’t ever want to change the mousse I use. I love the smell of this product because it isn’t overwhelming unlike other mousse products tend to be. Also, it truly holds the curl in my hair throughout the day when I leave my hair natural. And, finally, it doesn’t make my hair frizzy: definitely a bonus. On the days that I don’t want to put heat to my hair, I’ll towel dry my hair and add some of the mousse to my wavy hair. It looks great throughout the day, and it only took a few second to do, but let’s keep that secret between us.

I hope everyone enjoyed this post on my essential hair products. If anyone has suggestions for products that you have been loving, let me know in the comments below and I’ll make sure to check them out. Have an awesome day!

My Everyday Makeup

Morning Everyone! Since I am working all day today, I wanted to make sure that I wrote and uploaded my beauty post for the day. Today I am going to be talking about my everyday makeup essentials and routine.

As you all know from my morning skin care routine, I prefer to keep it simple and only use a few products, especially for my face.

My everyday makeup essentials consist of only four products; I know, I’m a simple person.

During the summertime, I try to stay away from foundation or concealer because it dries out my skin during the warm months. So, the only product I apply to my skin is the, Revlon PhotoReady Bronzing Powder. I’ll sweep this powder in the hallows of my cheeks and up towards my temples. I’ll also apply this anywhere the sun would naturally hit my skin. By doing this, you will create contoured lines for a natural-looking glow.

Next, I slightly fill in my eyebrows with Estee Lauder’s, Automatic Brow Pencil Duo. After, I’ll curl my lashes with my eyelash curler from, Revlon. Next, I apply my favorite mascara, which I have been OBSESSED with. Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara is the best mascara I have found from Maybelline, and believe me when I say that I own EVERY Maybelline mascara.

To finish my everyday makeup essentials, I have been loving Maybelline’s, Color Whisper lipsticks. The shade I have been wearing recently is, “Pink Possibilities” (Number 65). I apply the lipstick only in the center of my lips and then blend it out to make the color look more natural.

I hope everyone enjoyed today’s post, and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My Morning Skin Care Routine

Morning Everyone! Today I wanted to show you guys my morning skin care routine and give you guys a few tips on how to keep your skin clear throughout the summertime.

I believe simplicity is the number one rule when it comes to healthy skin. I never enjoyed using seven different serums on my face to keep it clear, or use multiple acne treatments at one time. This defeats the purpose of clear skin; adding several pounds of gunk to your face to make it glow will NOT keep your skin healthy.

That’s why I wanted to share my morning skin care routine; to show that clear, healthy skin can be achieved by using only necessary products. And, it’s nice if you’re on a budget because you will save money if you only have a few select items to buy. Another win-win situation.

When I wake up, I wash my face immediately because I hate the feeling of dirt and oil trapped in my skin. I have been using Cetaphil gentle skin Cleanser for over two years, and I can honestly say that it has kept my skin clear of acne. I use two pumps of the cleanser and wash my face thoroughly with cool water, not necessarily cold, but enough to wake you up in the morning. Next it’s important to pat your face dry with a towel. Never rub your face against a towel. This can irritate your skin and leave you with red blotches on on face.

Everyone has those select few items that they splurge on. I prefer to use drugstore makeup, but when it comes to my face, I am willing to spend the money if it is a quality product.

For example, my two luxury products are from Estee Lauder. First, I apply two pumps of the, Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. This is a great product for minimizing pores. I always apply this before I apply my moisturizer because it’s a great base for my skin. My second Estee Lauder product is the, Day Wear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Cream. This daily moisturizer is great for my skin because it’s SPF 25 and also oil-free.

I have been using the same three products for my morning skin care routine for over two years, and I think that using two or three quality products on your skin is enough to maintain it.

Other Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy:

  1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially during the summer months.
  2. Get some vitamin D (a.k.a SUNLIGHT!)
  3. Stick to a simple, everyday skin care routine.
  4. Always remove makeup at night. This is my most important tip!
  5. Eat a clean, healthy diet filled with fresh foods.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you have other suggestions of future posts, don’t hesitate to let me know. Have an awesome Tuesday, everyone!

Mini Weekend Haul

I was on the hunt for a pair of tan shorts and this was the end result of my hunt: all of these items, and I am STILL looking for a pair of tan shorts. Of course I bought everything else besides what I was shopping for! Please tell me this has happened to some of you before, and I’m not the only one with a compulsive shopping problem?

Although I am still searching every store in the area for tan shorts, I wanted to show you what I bought this weekend. I went to Ann Taylor Loft, Target, and Bath&Body Works.

Staring with Bath&Body Works, which obviously doesn’t sell clothing, but I have a terrible addiction to candles. It’s a problem, and I need to seek counseling ASAP. For the three candles that I purchased, I will write the description written on the back of the candle.

Coconut Leaves: “Be transported to the tropics with this fusion of juicy tangerine, papaya, and jasmine that gives way to soothing coconut and vanilla notes.”

Bellini Cafe: “The Italian love of life is captured in a blend of sparkling berried, juicy apple and sugared grape notes. Bellissimo!”

Strawberry Picnic: “A blend of red, ripe strawberries, wild raspberries and sweet buttercream frosting celebrates the very best part of a picnic by the lake.”

All three of the candles are incredible for the summertime. I find myself more attracted to fruity and sweet scents, whereas a lot of person prefer strong, floral scents. Quick side note: All mini candles from Bath&Body Works are on sale for $5, so if you’re a candle lover like I am, I would take advantage of the deal!

The second store I went to was Target. And I was banking that they would have shorts there. They do have tan shorts, but they were incredibly short, and I never liked short shorts. So, the result was some beauty items and shoes.

Red Canvas Shoes: I purchased the navy canvas shoes from Target a few weeks ago, and I have been wearing them constantly. When I saw that they had one pair of the red canvas shoes, in my size, a smile beamed from the face. It was fate.

What I love about these shoes is that they are great if you want to dress down a sundress or skirt for the summertime. And, they are comfortable and don’t give you blisters, which is definitely a plus.

Maybelline Color Whisper in the color, “Pink Possibilities:” I bought this on Friday when I went to Target, and I am loving this shade for the summer months. It is the perfect combination of peach and coral (my two favorite colors for summer!) I love that Maybelline has hydrating lip products that give great color.

Maybelline Color Sensational in the color, “Pink Pop:” This is my first Color Sensational product, and I am OBSESSED with the color. It’s from the “vivid” section (number 860.) Normally, I don’t buy bright lipsticks because I like to keep my makeup simple, but this color was too beautiful to turn down. And, I had a coupon buy one, get one free for Maybelline lip products, and i couldn’t say no.

Simple Exfoliating Facial Wipes: I couldn’t find the Olay Fresh Effects makeup cloths at Target, which made me incredibly sad, but I decided that it was a good opportunity to try this brand instead. The Simple facial wipes are new, and I thought to myself, may as well give it a try, right?

EOS Lip Balm: I have been in love with EOS for quite some time now, so I bought another one because I went two days without having one and it was torture. The balms are a little bigger, but the quality of the product is well worth it. I prefer the packaging because it’s easier to apply on your lips.

And finally, Ann Taylor Loft was the last store that I went to over the weekend. They had a sale buy one, get one 50% off on any full-priced item in the store. When I saw the sign, the heaves preached, “Amen” and the gospel singers started singing….Well, not quite, but you know what I mean.

Modern Skinny Ankle: I personally prefer Loft jeans because the quality is incomparable to any other brand that I have tried. I also believe that you get what you pay for, so I would rather drop a few extra dollars to keep a pair of jeans for a long time.

Parrot Top: At first, I was extremely skeptical about this top, but I wanted to try it regardless because I’m weird, and my clothes reflect my inner weirdo. I promise I am not a bird lover by any means, but this top is flattering when you try it on. The material is very lightweight and the colors are bright for summer. It’s a win-win situation.

So, that’s the conclusion for my, Mini Weekend Haul. If you like haul posts, let me know in the comments section. Or, if you have any other ideas that you would like to see on my blog, let me know! Thanks, and Happy Monday!

Maybelline Lipstick Trick

As promised, here is the second post of the day due to my short OOTD post earlier.

Recently, I have been OBSESSED with the Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks. The colors are beautiful for the spring and summertime, and they are great if you don’t like to wear a heavy lip product during the warm months.

I wanted to share one of my favorite beauty tricks that I love to use with Color Whisper lip products. As much as I love wearing the Color Whisper’s on my lips, I also love to use them as a blush.

Now, for those who think I am absolutely insane, just give me a minute to elaborate.

Maybelline lip products are lightweight products that don’t contain harsh chemicals, which won’t irritate your skin. I know from personal experience because I have extremely sensitive skin, and using the lip product on my face doesn’t give me blemishes at all.

Another benefit you will have from using the lip product as a blush is giving your skin extra hydration throughout the day, especially during the summertime. Lip products (Maybelline specifically) using hydrating formulas that moisturize your lips during the day. When you wear it on your skin, it will add more hydration as opposed to a powder-based or cream-based blush.

Next, because the lip product is lightweight, it won’t clog your pores like a powder-based or cream-based blush would, which could potentially cause blemishes throughout the day.

Also, not only are you saving extra money by using your lipstick as a multipurpose product, but you will also have perfectly matched lips and cheeks throughout the day.

Finally, you don’t need to use a lot of the lipstick on your cheeks as a blush, believe me, a little goes a long way! There are many benefits to this secret beauty trick that I use everyday. I am constantly asked what blush products I use, and people are surprised when I say that I use lip products on my skin. But, it’s also a great money-saving trick too! Overall, this trick have many benefits for your skin and your wallet.

In the picture above are my three favorite Maybelline Color Whispers. From left to right:

Shade 90: Oh La Lilac, Shade 50: Cherry On Top, Shade 65: Pink Possibilities.
