Summer Fashion Trend: Pineapples

BB8315Above images from Francesca’

I might sound biased because pineapple is one of my favorite fruits, but I am obsessed with the pineapple craze this summer. From accessories to decor or clothing, I have been seeing pineapples featured everywhere.

I thought it would be fun to do a post featuring some of my favorite items I’ve found from Francesca’s sporting this summer trend. Here are five of my favorites:

Jewelry Holder: This holds everyday jewels you wear regularly while staying festive for summer. If you’re looking for functional and festive tray to hold your jewelry, this holder is perfect for you.

Shorts: Who doesn’t love fabric shorts? They’re comfortable and are prettier than your standard denim shorts. If you’re looking to step out of your comfort zone, pick up these shorts to wear to a bon fire with your friends.

Phone Case: If you change up your phone case based on the season, add this one to your collection. It’s beach worthy and will keep you thinking about summer even when the warm days have passed.

Canvas Shoes: I love canvas shoes because they’re comfortable and versatile. Why not try pineapple-patterned ones? Take a navy dress and make it pop with these shoes. You’ll create a comfortable, chic look.

Watch: Put your Michael Kors away for the day and bring out this watch for a day of summer fun. The cork band gives the watch a laid-back look if you don’t want to worry about ruining your fancy watch.

What item is your favorite? Have you been wearing anything with pineapples on it this summer, or are you not a fan of this trend? Leave a comment below!

What I Wore Wednesday: Whimsical Whites

BB72215-4 BB72215-5 BB72215-2 BB72215-1 BB72215-3

I have become obsessed with wearing whites this summer. I love the look of a crisp, clean outfit. To be honest, there’s nothing better than finding a color palette that you love. My color palette depends on my mood and has recently consisted of neutral colors like white, black and navy with few bright colors.

This week has been divided between working and more working. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to enjoy summer weather or time with friends. I keep telling myself that the work will pay off in the end!

Sometimes, we can’t find time to enjoy life, and it’s important to remember to schedule time for yourself. Even if it’s as little as 30 minutes a day to unwind with a book, take a walk or chat with a friend. Although we have commitments, time for ourselves is important.

Today, I’m taking the time to enjoy a day off of work, school work and blogging. Instead, I’ll be spending time relaxing and freeing my mind of all any responsibilities. I plan to treat myself to one of my favorite foods (sushi). Here’s my What I Wore Wednesday line up:

Top: Ann Taylor LOFT

Jeans: Old Navy

Sunglasses: Francesca’s

Wedges: DSW

Today, in the mist of your busy week, I encourage you to take time for yourself and put aside any work for the day. We all deserve it! Make sure to like this post if you want to see my outfits from my trip to D.C. next week Wednesday.

What I Wore Wednesday: embracing a busy schedule

Sometimes you need to embrace a busy schedule. I’m in my second, eight week-long class for the summer. Yes, my entire summer is dedicated to work, school work, blogging, working out, and spending time with my boyfriend and family during the rest of my free time.

Life is busy; but it’s okay to embrace a busy lifestyle. Although it’s important to take it slow and appreciate the little moments, it’s equally important to know that being busy and living a crazy life can be fun and exciting. However you decide to live your life this summer, make sure you’re happy because that’s all that matters.

For today’s What I Wore Wednesday, I was able to get some school work done, workout, prepare some blog posts for next week, go to happy hour with my best friend (my mom) and plan out the upcoming week (work schedule) before my trip to D.C. If you want to see D.C. photos of what I did, what I wore, etc., make sure to like this post! (Also, if you have restaurant recommendations, make sure to leave a comment below.)

Top: Forever 21: I’m obsessed with this top because I can easily wear it all-year long.

Shorts: Ann Taylor Loft: Scalloped detailing is my favorite trend for summer right now.

Sunglasses: Aldo: I’ve been on the hunt for new sunglasses and picked these up last weekend.

Hat: Aldo: Another item I’ve been searching for and finally found this weekend.

Remember that it’s okay to be busy and productive; but also remember it’s important to take a break and step back from the world to relax. As long as you’re living a happy, healthy life, then it’s okay.

How do you stay balanced when life is busy? Make sure to leave your tips in a comment below!

Summer fashion wish list

Untitled #30

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is enjoying the week so far. On Monday, I shared my summer beauty wish list items, so I thought it was appropriate to share my summer fashion wish list with you all, too.

A lot of the items I want are based on recent spring and summer trends. Let me know what your summer fashion wish list is by leaving a comment below or tweeting me @BlissBrunette.

Crop Tops: I hope this trend never fades because I am obsessed with crop tops. Most of the crop tops I own are casual T-shirts, so I’m looking for ones that are dressy, which is why I picked tops with delicate details like scallop detailing and lace detailing. Scallop and lace are two trends I’m looking to wear more this season. They’re simple, feminine and perfect for summer fashion.

Midi Skirts: I prefer longer skirts, but I haven’t added a midi skirt to my collection and I think it’s time to change that. I love how modest and classy midi skirts are. They are flattering for different body types, great transition piece for fall fashion. I love the simplicity of this skirt.

Loafers: Some people either love this trend or hate it. Like this post if you love loafers! I think they’re comfortable, versatile and can work well for different seasons. Many old trends are coming back, so who says loafers can’t join in on the come-back train for fashion? I hope to buy black or grey loafers, so they will go with a variety of outfits.

Statement Jewelry: I have a few statement necklaces in my collection, but I want to expand not only with necklaces, but also earrings and bracelets. Overall, I want to revamp my jewelry collection entirely, and I want to make a statement with each piece. I won’t go overboard with gaudy items, but I think creative jewelry can be inspiring for an outfit.

Don’t forget to tell me what fashion items are on your wish list this summer! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you all Friday.

Fashion obsession: crop tops

Crop Tops

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I hope you are all enjoying the week.

Today I want to share my newest fashion obsession for spring and summer. For those who haven’t joined the crop-top madness for spring and summer, you need to join the obsession.

I love how versatile crop tops are, especially now that we are approaching the warmer months of the year. My favorite way to style crop tops varies on what I plan to do that day. If I plan to run errands and have a productive day, I’m more likely to wear the first outfit. It’s simple, comfortable but you can look put-together on even the busiest days of the week. I really love pairing crop tops with colored jeggings, even white jeans make a great statment, which will be another trend this season.

When I want to wear a dressed-up, classic outfit, I would gravitate toward the second look with the skater skirt and matching crop top. I love the variety of bold colors crop tops come in. You can match it with a the same color as your skirt, or be daring and try another bold color for summer. The bolder, the better.

During summertime, I think of stargazing. I love the idea of this galactic-inspired outfit, which would be perfect for different summer events such as concerts, art festivals, a day at the beach or shopping at open-air markets. It’s comfortable and unique if you want to stand out in a crowd. If the galaxy print it too much for your taste, switch out the shorts for your favorite pair of high-waisted shorts to achieve the same look.

What outfit is your favorite out of the three? How do you like to style your crop tops? Tweet me @BlissBrunette to let me know your thoughts on this summer trend or leave a comment below! I love hearing your opinions of current trends.

I hope you all enjoy your day and I will talk to you all Friday!

Colored Denim Three Ways

Colored Denim: Three Ways

Hello everyone and happy Thursday, I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend!

Today I want to share a new fashion-related post, which will take one specific trend and show you three options on how to style it. Like this post if you want to see more of these on my blog! Don’t forget to tweet @BlissBrunette if you want to request a beauty, fashion or fitness post.

Colored denim has been a popular trend for the last few years, and it’s back for another season this spring. I think colored denim is very flattering if you find a color that compliments your skin tone. They’re also versatile to dress up or down.

Here are the three ways I style colored denim:

Casual Chic: For the busy days where you need to go to your morning classes, an internship, run errands after and make it to dinner with friends, this is the perfect outfit. Add wedges to the outfit because they are a classic and comfortable option for a long day. Dress it up even more with a statement necklace!

Eclectic Comfort: Let’s be honest: we all have lazy days are the house. I probably have two lazy days each week! If you want a simple and effortless outfit, wear a comfy T-shirt and fun earrings to compliment a pair of colored jeans. Black sandals dress down the completed look.

Perfect Pastels: Pastels are a staple in my wardrobe during spring. This outfit is great for a night out with your boyfriend or group of girlfriends. Add yellow bangles to compliment the pastel purple. Heels dress up the outfit, which works perfect for a night out to dinner or drinks!

Leave a comment below telling me how you wear colored denim. I hope you all enjoy the day and as always, I will talk to you all soon.

Spring Fever: intricate fashion and bold purple

Hello everyone and happy Saturday. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far.

As the weather gets warmer, the more excited I am for spring and summer, especially spring and summer fashion. After months of boots, thick sweaters and excessive layers of clothing, I’m ready for shorts, crop tops and sandals.

Like this post if you’re excited for spring and summer!

Today I want to share some of my favorite trends coming up this season for 2014. Make sure to leave a comment below telling me what your favorite trends are for spring and summer.

April 11 to 13 and April 18 to 20 is Coachella. I was inspired by this art and music festival for my outfit. Leave a comment telling me if you what to go to Coachella someday!

My first favorite is bold, bright purple. I am obsessed with purple all-year long, but I’m loving neon purple nails and accessories. I love this nail polish from Essie’s 2013 neon collection, and the bright purple in the the statement necklace.

I also love detailed tops for spring and summer. The top above is from Forever 21, which you can purchase here for $18. I love how great this will work with shorts or jeans during the summer. A simple, classic top can be transformed from causal to dressy with intricate detailing.

Another detail I love this season is lace and crochet tops, shorts, etc. Lace boomed with popularity last year, but it reappeared for another season. Needless to say, I couldn’t be happier. I love the femininity of lace, especially in white or off-white items. The shorts above are from for $19.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. As always, I will talk to you all soon.

Winter Trends

Winter Trends
Hello there and Happy Sunday! I know not everyone is ready for the holidays and winter season yet, but after receiving a few inches of snow, I am in the holiday spirit! So, similar to yesterday’s post, I want to share some fashion trends for the  winter season.
Winter White
  • This trend began last winter season and it’s back for round two in the fashion world for its popularity. Winter whites can be incorporated into your wardrobe in any way. I showed two examples, a sweater dress and a knit beanie; to show that you can wear this trend as the staple piece of your outfit or as an accent item to an outfit. Either way, make sure to rock this trend during winter.
Sweater Dresses
  • I currently own one sweater dress and I plan to change that number this winter season. Sweater dresses are perfect because if you love dressing up during the cold months, this is the perfect way to do it. And, they’re perfect for layering scarves, tights, and jackets to stay extra warm!
Ankle Boots
  • Ankle boots are a trend that never seems to go out of style. I love this trend because you can add warm, knit boot socks for extra layers. And, ankle boots come in all different styles and colors, so you’ll never get bored shopping for a new pair if you already have some. And, it’s always nice to expand your collection!
Knit Everything (scarves, tights and beanies)
  • Who doesn’t love a  knit scarf? If you’re obsessed with accessories, make sure you purchase some knit accessories this season. Not only will they keep you warm, but you’ll stay in-style and comfortable all-day long. You can find a plethora of options for all beanies, tights and scarves. Happy hunting!

What are some of your favorite winter trends? What trend are you most looking forward to wearing this winter? Make sure to comment them down below, I’d love to read them all.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

One Outfit, All Day: The Power of Neutrals

One Outfit, All Day

Hello there. Hopefully you all had a great start to the week. If not, you have a new day today to turn your mood around so make the most of it! Today I wanted to write my second, “One Outfit, All Day” post because I received positive feedback from you all about my first one.

I always try to get the most use out of an outfit because I don’t want to waste a beautifully-coordinated outfit for two classes and then change into yoga pants for the rest of the day. So, I decided to create different looks that would work perfectly throughout an entire day of errands, classes, meetings and other activities you might do on a daily basis.

The simple way to plan an outfit that will work well for a busy day is to focus on neutral colors. Sometimes they’re boring and we all need a pop of color in our lives, but neutral colors is your secret weapon to achieve a look that will last.

For this outfit, I made the look more fall-appropriate so if the weather isn’t cold enough, you can easily change some of the items to fit the weather conditions.

Starting with a plain, long-sleeve top, I added a blush-colored scarf to add interest. Scarves are a great addition to an outfit if you want to create a simple look that will last for an entire day.

I paired the light colors of the scarf and top to contrast against the black jeggings and boots. Black is my go-to color that works for any occasion and compliments any color I incorporate into my outfits.

Finally, I added a cream-colored beanie because they’re a perfect addition to a fall outfit. You don’t have to wear one, but if you’re having a bad hair day then it’ll work perfectly for you.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on how to achieve a look that will last throughout the day. Enjoy the rest of your day and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Fall Outfit Inspiration: Statement necklace and Brogues

Fun Fall Creation

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. Today, I want to share a fall outfit inspiration with two specific trends that I love this season: statement necklaces and brogues.

Brogues are inspired by mens dress shoes in structure and style. I chose a pair from Charlotte Russe because they illustrate a combination of both brogue-style and oxford-style flats. Other brogues have detailed cut-outs and come in a variety of colors. So, this trend will work for you if you want to try something new!

I paired the shoes with skinny jeans from, which look perfect if you cuff the bottom of the jeans for a clean, polished look. I added a light-weight sweater from that will work perfectly for the season.

The second trend I incorporated in this outfit is a statement necklace form Amazon. This trend became popular in summer, but I think adding an orange statement necklace shows your fall-festive outfit without wearing too much orange.

And, if you aren’t satisfied with an orange necklace, I recommend painting your nails orange to complete your fall outfit! I chose an Orly polish, which will match the necklace but won’t look overwhelming.

I love piecing together outfits that incorporate different trends throughout the seasons. I’m inspired by fashion everyday and illustrating that through my blog is what I love to do.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

One Look, All Day: Fall Date Day or Date Night Outfit

Fall Date Day or Date Night

Hello there and Happy Sunday! I hope you all have plans to watch football, relax and do nothing productive today because that is what today is all about. It’s that day that we all secretly look forward to because we know we can get away with watching Netflix for eight hours without someone judging us.

Today, I wanted to write a new type of post that I want to share with you all on my blog. Essentially, it will be outfits that I put together that can work for an entire day. For example, if you have class, an internship, another class, a meeting, and a dinner date all in one day but you don’t want to have several outfit changed throughout the day, then this will help to create ideas and show you what will work with multiple occasions.

For my first example, I wanted to post an outfit that could work for both a date day or date night with a boyfriend. It’s a great way to envision an outfit that will work for the entire day and you won’t feel out of place whenever your next errand is.

Lets get started!

I first started with a white knit sweater. I thought that this would be great because it’s simple enough that you can pair it with jeans or shorts and it won’t look too complex or overwhelming to the eye. Also, it has gorgeous detailing in the knit of the sweater, so it will compliment any body type.

Second, I paired the sweater with a pair of mint-colored jeans. Now, I know I am a little nostalgic of summer, but I personally think that this white sweater works well with the colored jeans. Again, they’re both two simple pieces that work well with each other. And, this is a great outfit combination if you have a long day of errands and meetings but don’t want to swap outfits constantly. This look is put-together while still remaining stylish.

For accessories, I decided to make the outfit a little more autumn-friendly considering it is that time of season. I added black boots, which are a great piece to purchase and wear throughout the fall and a black bag to match the boots. To complete the look with a little cute piece, I added an owl necklace that I thought was too adorable for words. If you all didn’t know, I have an obsession with owls, they’re my second favorite animal (first is the elephant).

And that is the finished look I created. I think that this outfit is great for different types of dates. Whether you’re going bowling and an ice-cream date or having a dinner out, this look will work for the season.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! If you’re interested in seeing more posts on outfits that you can wear for an entire day of events and errands, let me know in the comments below. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Orange You Glad…?

Orange You Glad...?

Hello there and Happy October 1st! I cannot believe that the month of September has already come and gone. But, I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t excited for October–Halloween, apple picking, candy, cider, scary-movie marathons, pumpkin-flavored everything and laying clothes. What’s not to be excited about?

After looking through the October edition of Galmour magazine, I skimmed across a page that highlighted wearing orange for fall. Now, I’m not against the color at all, but whenever I wear orange around this time, I feel awkward. I feel as though I am trying to intentionally look like a pumpkin. So, I wanted to create a few tips that would make look your orange clothes look less, well, orange-y.

One: Layer navy blue over orange:

  • Navy blue is the perfect backdrop color to compliment orange. It’s subtle, simple and won’t look too overwhelming to the eye. orange naturally has the “wow-factor” appeal to it whereas navy blue tones down the brightness of the color. I would pair a thick, fall sweater and layer it over an orange dress or blouse. The dress will peer out underneath the dress. Or you can layer the blouse so that the collar sticks out. You can also rolls the sleeves for a casual, preppy look.

Two: Let the accessories speak

  • When all else fails in the rulebook for fashion, just stick with what you know. For me, I am a fan of taking simple accessories and incorporating them into my outfit so that I won’t have a pumpkin vibe to my outfit. So, I would add a scarf, hat or belt to my outfit. This tip works well for anyone because you can still look festive for fall without looking like “that girl” that obsesses over Halloween every year and is practically a witch without anyone knowing. Pair orange accessories with simple and neutral colors such as navy blue, brown, ivory, etc.

Three: Wear shoes as a statement piece

  • A statement piece is what I look forward to most when picking and choosing my outfit for the day. That one article of clothing or accessory that you build and create your entire outfit around is the statement piece for your outfit. So, why not have your shoes be the statement piece of your outfit? Wear bold, bright, crazy orange shoes for the day. But, just remember to compliment the shoes by wearing a mix of neutral and simple colors that won’t make you stand out against a crowd of people.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s fashion post for the day. And, I want everyone to do something fall-related in honor of the first day of October. Go apple-picking, wear orange, order a pumpkin latte, take pictures of the changing leaves or drink apple cider. Do something that involves fall. I know I’ll order Starbucks pumpkin latte at least twice today. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Transforming Summer Fashion Into Fall: Date Night

Date Night

Hey Everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful start to the week. With the weather changing day-to-day and summer fashion becoming a distant memory, it’s time to find ways of using summer clothes for the fall season.

One way that I do this is by using summer colors that also work well in fall. Not only does it save you money, but you’re also getting your money’s worth on clothes that you already own. No need to go out and purchase new items when you can make use of the ones that you have in your closet.

For example, purple is a color that looks lovely on a sundress, or on a pair of heels. But, now that fall is working its way around the corner, we need to find ways of working summer colors into fall fashion.

Here are some of my tips:

One: Wear neutral colors to tone down summer colors
It’s easy to get mixed up summer fashion and feel nostalgic when you have to put away floral dresses and skirts. However, not all of your floral fashion needs to be packed away. I took this floral top and paired it with black jeans and a blazer. This way, the floral isn’t too overwhelming and you are wearing fall-friendly clothing that will keep you warm on a chilly, evening date night

Two: Pair together accessories that will compliment your summer piece
I decided to match a pair of purple heels and clutch together to finish off this outfit. They work very well together in this outfit, and it pulls the look together for a fall date night. I think it’s important to choose your accessories that will work well in the fall. Purple is a go-to color that works perfectly for all seasons. So, stick to colors that you know will work well with what you’re wearing, but are also suitable for the change in season.

Three: Keep it simple
Fall is a glorious season where a little goes a long way. It doesn’t take much effort to make an outfit look incredible. Also, as long as you feel comfortable and warm for the occasion, you’ll have nothing to worry about. So, dress warm, wear layers, and don’t be afraid to try something new. But, always remember that keeping it simple is the best style that any girl can pull off regardless of the season

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! I am looking forward to fall fashion this season and I can’t wait to have more tips on ways to try different styles and ideas for fall. If you have any suggestions or requests, leave a comment below. I hope you all have a lovely day, and as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Tuesday Outfit of the Day: Fall-Friendly

Hello there! So, apparently I am feeling ambitious and fashion-forward this week because I have been taking the time to get ready for early classes. But, at least it give me another opportunity to share more outfits with you all!

Today’s outfit of the day post is definitely more casual and fall friendly. It’s a little cold in the mountains today, so I thought it would a good idea to start wearing weather-appropriate attire for the week because I don’t want to get sick for the third time this month.

I think Tuesday is a little more hectic than Monday for me. Yes, I do have three classes everyday, but aside from school, clubs and other responsibilities seem to take most priority on Tuesday. And, without Pretty Little Liars, I can actually focus on what I need to do for the week.

However, without anymore side tangents about my life and all things random, lets get started

Sweater: Victoria’s Secret

  • I purchased this sweater this summer from Victoria’s Secret for $34.99. I know their prices aren’t college-friendly, however I couldn’t resist buying their sweaters. I’m not going to lie, they are one of my many addictions. Although you can’t see the back, it is all lace, so wearing a bralette or camisole is a recommendation to pair with this sweater. I love the color of it, too. I try to make use of my clothes for as many seasons as possible, and I thought this was a great example of that. Even though the sweater is a summery-peach color, I created the look to be more wearable for fall weather.

Jeggings: Hollister

  • These jeggings are by far one of my all-time-favorite jeans that I own from Hollister. They stretch well, but not too much where the material sags on your legs. And, burgundy is a gorgeous color to wear during the fall. I was slightly skeptical about matching these two colors together, but I think they compliment each other perfectly. The peach color stands out against the burgundy jeggings. And, I purchased these jeggings when they were on sale for $18.99, so another reason why they were a good pick. Needless to say, you will see me wear these jeans frequently in the fall.

Shoes: DSW

  • An outfit is never complete without shoes, well, unless you’re a hippie I suppose. Or, prefer to walk around barefoot. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…Anyway, I bought these shoes over the summer from DSW for $34.99 and I fell in love with them from the second I saw them. And, they were the last pair of shoes in stock that were in my size. Clearly, it was fate that brought us together. I love the golden specks that are splattered across these shoes. Also, I love that they are a nude-based color, so they will match with a variety of outfits throughout the seasons. These shoes are a great example of a “bang for your buck.” Meaning, I will get my money’s worth, which is always something that I look forward to when it come to fashion.

I hope you all enjoyed reading today’s outfit of the day post. I love when I put together an outfit that I think you all will love to read about. And, I know I might be do a little too much fashion blogging, but I promise I am going to work on posting more on beauty, health and fitness. If you have any suggestions on content that you would like to see on my blog, don’t hesitate to let me know. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Fashion Inspiration: Wedding Attire

Untitled #3

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend so far. Personally, I think that two days isn’t enough time to have off. An extra day (or two) would be lovely. However, since that isn’t the case, we must make the most of the time we do have.

Today, I wanted to post an outfit inspiration post about wedding attire. My cousin is getting married at the end of the month, and it is the first wedding that I am not a part of the bridal party. So, it will be my first time attending as a guest.

Essentially, this post is where I need your help to find out what attire seems most fitting for the wedding. I laid out three dresses that look relatively similar to the ones listed above. I couldn’t find the exact dresses, and I wanted quality images of the dresses so that you can give me your honest opinion.

Lets get started!

The first dress (starting on the left) is a simple dress. It’s a gorgeous fushia color, which isn’t too overwhelming to the eye. I love the simplicity and classic elements that are brought out in this dress. It was very easy to find shoes to match the dress because the waistband is pewter, so I paired that with pewter-bedazzled heels.

On to the next one.

The second dress (middle) is the most dramatic of the dress dresses. As much as I love keeping this simple, I love to wear some wild pieces once in awhile. I love how fun this dress is. However, it reminds me of high school homecoming, which is what might potentially turn me away from wearing it. But, the colors are bright and bold, and the detailing along the side of the dress is stunning. I paired nude Mary Jane heels with this outfit, which I love because of the bows that are on them. It adds the feminine touch that I love to do with all of my outfits.

And finally,

The last dress (on the right) is what I would call my go-to dress to wear to a wedding. It’s simple, feminine and lovely in every aspect. I love the tie that sits in the middle of the dress, it’s a classic way to create dimension, without overwhelming the eye. Overall, this dress is appealing and the deep purple is absolutely stunning. I decided to pair this dress with black, peep-toed heel. I love the dress with these shoes because the detailing on the shoe stands out against the simple dress.

So, I would love if you could all tell me what you think would be the perfect outfit to wear to this wedding. Leave comments down below to let me know what you all think. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Fashion Inspiration: Festive for Fall

Untitled #1

Hello there! So, today I decided that I wanted to start creating different outfits for fashion inspiration. However, I can only create so many outfits out of my own clothing. The only solution is to create outfit collages online.

My specific collage today is based on a typical outfit that I would put together on a fall day. I included a top, skirt, cardigan, boots, bag and accessories.

My favorite piece in the outfit is the cardigan. I have quite the collection of cardigans myself, and I love layering a warm cardigan over a top and skirt during the fall.

Also, I love the jewelery that I mixed together in this collage. The earrings are adorable, even though they don’t match at all with the other items. The bracelet and necklace have gold tones in them, but they don’t match perfectly, which is the look I was going for. I don’t believe in matching every aspect of your outfit together. Variety is the spice of life.

I am highly considering purchasing the boots I paired for this outfit. They would be the perfect go-to footwear for the fall time. They are the perfect shade of brown, which can match well with a variety of pieces and styles.

What I love most about creating outfits is how much time I put into them. It might seem like someone can throw together an outfit in less than ten minutes (I would know because i do it everyday before an 8:30 class) but when you have the opportunity to sit down and create an outfit that you feel passionate about, hours can go by. Or, maybe that’s just me?

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this new bit on creating different outfits for fall. If you want me to create an outfit for an occasion, let me know in the comments because I would love to create specific outfits that you recommend! I hope you all enjoy the rest of you day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Tuesday Outfit of the Day (OOTD)

Good Morning, everyone! I wanted to start off the day bright and early with an outfit of the day post because I was excited to wear this skirt today. It has been incredibly humid out since I am returned to school, so wear light-weight clothes has been my essential for two weeks.

Today is just a normal day of classes and school work; nothing too fancy. However, I am excited because today is what I call “Newspaper Day,” which I will explain. Some of you might not know that I am an editor for my campus newspaper. Deadline for stories are on Wednesday at noon, so the tedious work of interviewing, gathering information and quotes, and laying out a story is done on Tuesday.

So, if you were wondering about my life for the day, there it is in a nutshell. Now, lets get started with today’s outfit!

Top: Victoria’s Secret

  • I purchased this top last summer before college for only $5. It was toward the end of Victoria’s Secret, Summer Sale, so I knew that I would luck out with some great purchases. I love wearing deep, bold purples in the fall. And, I know the leaves aren’t changing just yet, but I am too excited to not start wearing my fall fashion pieces. Also, you might not notice because the top is tucked in, but this is a very comfy and loose-fitting top, which is one of my go-to items during school. I love that I can wear this top dressed up or down and I will feel comfortable either way.

Skirt: Forever 21

  • I bought this skirt from Forever 21 in New York City three years ago, and it is my all-time favorite skirt. It was another bargain deal: only $12! Knowing that my completed outfit is just around $30 makes me feel so thrifty. I love the colors and shape of this skirt, it’s flattering and looks amazing on different body types. If I could own this style of skirt in every color/pattern available in the fashion world, I would. Instantly. No questions asked.

Shoes: Target

  • I didn’t realize how often I wear these shoes until I write my outfit of the day post, and realize that they’re in Every. Single. Photo. You all must think they’re the only shoes I own. Well, I do have a decent collection of shoes, however I prefer my canvas shoes from Target because they perfect for a college campus. Walking around all day from building-to-building can definitely take a toll on your feet if you aren’t wearing the proper footwear. So, I normally wear these for comfort, but I love how well they can be paired with any outfit.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s outfit of the day post! I am thankful that I woke up early enough to have my blog post written and completed for the day. Now, I can focus on the rest of the work I will have to do. Enjoy the rest of your day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Outfit Inspiration: Back to School (Outfit 3 of 3) and Under $50!

Good evening, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful start to a new week. I know Mondays can be difficult, but hang in there because it will go by.

Today was my first official day of classes, and I am already excited for the semester and all of my new classes. Time seems to fly by quicker since I have been in college. I still feel like a first-year student not knowing where to go on campus. It’s crazy to know how much time has gone by.

Today, I wanted to combine two ideas together and create my third back-to-school outfit inspiration to be under $50. So, if anyone is looking for thrifty purchases for their back-to-school shopping, I thought this would be helpful for some of you. (Especially if you are in college!) Not having money in the bank is a struggle during four years of school, so saving money whenever you can is always ideal.

This completed outfit is from Forever 21. (All of the links for the items will be listed in order underneath the name of the product.) I love shopping there when I know I need to spend as little money as possible because I always manage to find good deals. And, they have a huge selection of items, so they appeal to a variety of styles.

Let’s get started!

Outfit Number Three: Comfy Cozy

Boyfriend-Inspired Marled Top: $15.80

  • I love finding baggy, comfortable sweaters to wear during fall and winter time. They’re great when you’re having a lazy morning and don’t want to put in all of the extra effort to look good for class. We are all human and we can’t look perfect 24/7: it’s not possible! So, I thought this would be a perfect go-to item for everyone  who wants to have that “lazy-morning outfit” in case you decide to press the snooze button more than you expected. It’s a simple piece, however it looks wonderful with leggings and jeans. Whatever you feel is most appropriate to wear to class that day is fine with me.

Basic Ponte Knit Leggings: $8.80

  • It’s great to purchase a pair of simple, go-to leggings for fall. They’re comfortable and light-weight. Also, one of my favorite aspects of leggings are that they make it look like you put effort into how you look, but in reality you decided to roll out of bed and just wing it for the day. And, trust me, you are going to have those days where you don’t want to spend a lot of time getting ready. That’s why I created this outfit. It will solve all of your lazy-morning problems before class.

Heartbreaker Loafers: $15.00

  • These loafers were definitely a steal. They were originally $26.80, but are currently marked-down for $15.00. Now, I’m not sure how you feel about a good deal, but I feel incredibly excited when I know that I saved myself money in the long run.

Total Cost for Outfit: $39.60 (I made it under $40?! that’s definitely a new record for me!)

I hope you all enjoyed today’s combined post that I wrote on my final back-to-school outfit, and that all of the items equaled to be under $50! Thriftiness can be a beautiful thing if you know where to shop and you know what you are looking for. Also, I hope that you all enjoy the rest of you night, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon! bye.

Outfit Inspiration: Back to School (Outfit 1 of 3)

Good afternoon, everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the weekend so far. It is the Saturday before classes start, and all of the upperclassmen are moving in today. This can only mean one thing: many mistakes will happen tonight. I am worried, but I will be entertained to hear the impressive first-night-out stories that will be filled with classic college shenanigans.

I wanted to post an outfit inspiration post for the day because it is that time of year where students are going back to high school and college. I love back-to-school shopping because it is a moment when you can change your style for the year. If you want to try something new, now is the perfect opportunity to do so.

I want to post three outfit inspiration posts for back to school to give a variety of ideas on how to can dress an outfit up or down depending on what you feel the most comfortable wearing. I will post the first outfit today. Then, Sunday will be outfit number two and Monday will be outfit number three. I will have different styles and clothing options for each day.

Let’s get started!

Outfit Number One: Cute and Colorful

Top: Pac Sun

  • I like to wear a top that is exciting and that will attract a lot of attention on the first day. Since most of the day is filled with learning about the course you’re in and your professor; there isn’t anything too exciting about the first day of classes. So, I picked this sheer, multicolored crop-top to spice up my look for the first day. It’s light-weight, so it will be perfect if the weather is still warm out. And, if it’s not warm out, the building on campus are typically warm, especially on the third floor. It’s a great way to stay cool and comfortable during the day.

Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft

  • These jeans are perfect for back to school. They’re comfortable and work well if you want to dress and outfit up or down. For the first day of school, I decided to keep it simple and casual because I don’t want to look over-the-top on the first day. I think cuffing jeans at the bottom and pairing them off with sneakers is the best option for dressing an outfit down.

Bralette: Hollister

  • Because the top I picked is sheer, I decided to wear a bralette underneath my top. This one is a bright pink laced bralette from Holliser. I purchased three of these on sale this summer for six dollars a piece. Definitely a bargain! They’re great to wear under clothes that are sheer, and the lace detailing adds a feminine touch to the outfit. As you all know by now, I am a girly-girl and love my pink clothes. Also, I love adding pieces of feminine aspects to each outfit to enhance my girly style.

Shoes: Target

  • And, you know all that I wouldn’t wear any other pair of shoes other than my Target canvas shoes. I love how well the red matches the bright red in the crop-top. As I mentioned before, pairing an outfit with sneakers is a great way to keep an outfit casual for the first day of school. These canvas shoes were only $15 at Target, and come in a variety of colors. They don’t leave blisters and always match an outfit: no matter what you decide to wear. Honestly, they are the best investment I have made regarding footwear this summer. And, if I could wear them every day of the week, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on outfit number one of three of my back-to-school outfit inspiration ideas! Creating different outfits for specific occasions is one of my favorite past times, so knowing that I will be writing two more posts makes me incredibly happy. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your evening. And, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Thursday Outfit Of The Day (OOTD): Coffee Date and Last Dinner With Friends

Good Morning! Only one more day until we all can finally relax during the weekend. This morning I am packing my life into boxes before going back to school this Sunday. I am excited to go back, but I know the next few days are going to be a little hectic.

Today is the last day I can see my close friends from home before I leave, so I wanted to share an outfit of the day post with you all. This post could double as a OOTD post and an outfit inspiration post. I am meeting a friend from work for a coffee date around 2 p.m. and around 6 p.m. tonight I’m going out to dinner with my two best friends for our last meal together before we all go back to school. It’s bittersweet, but I am happy to start a new semester.

Let’s get started with the outfit of the day and outfit inspiration!

Tank Top: Marshall’s

  • I purchased this top from Marshall’s two years ago for $9.99. I walked by t long rack of clothes and immediately knew that this top would be mine. And, knowing the price was less than $10 sealed the deal for me. I love the zipper in the front. It gives an edge to a floral-print top. Also, the small ruffles going down the bust adds a feminine touch to an already girl piece. Clearly, I fell in love.

Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft

  • I purchased these jeans from Ann Taylor Loft last summer. And, I must admit that I do wear them more frequently than not. They look fabulous with all different tops and shoes. I love when I can cuff the bottom of the jeans to show off a cute pair of flats. For this outfit, I wanted to keep it simple, but still look put-together and feminine. It’s easy to wear jeans and a t-shirt everyday, but it’s nice when you can dress up your outfit.

Shoes: DSW

  • I purchased these heels a few weeks ago from DSW, and needless to say I am already in love with them. They are Madden Girl shoes, which if you have never tried this brand of shoes, I strongly recommend making an investment. They’re extremely comfortable, and never give you blisters. Also, most of their shoes are under $50, so you won’t feel guilty about dropping money on quality-made shoes. Overall, there are no negatives to purchasing a pair, so give them a try! You won’t be disappointed.

I hope you all enjoyed my outfit of the day/outfit inspiration post for the day! This outfit is versatile for multiple occasions. Whether you’re grabbing coffee on the go, or planning a dinner downtown with friend; this look is simple but put-together for those busy days. I hope you all have a lovely day, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Monday Outfit Of The Day (OOTD)

Good Morning, Darlings! I hope everyone is well rested from the weekend. I can’t exactly say that this weekend was “relaxing,” but it was one of the best weekends of my life.

Today, I wanted to write a outfit of the day post because I am in love with the dress I am wearing, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to see what you all think of my outfit, too.

This week will be one of the busiest weeks of my existence, but I will be sure to make the most of it before I go back to school. Today, I am going off on a day-trip to Canada with my mamma. We always take little trips together before I head back to school. So, if you’re wondering what I’ll be up to today, that’s my plan!

Let’s get started!

Dress: American Eagle Outfitters

  • I love the colors that are in this dress. The orange has a subtle touch of peach in it, which makes it less overwhelming of a color. And, more people will be attracted to it. The floral pattern isn’t too dramatic either; they compliment the color of the dress perfectly. It’s appealing to the eye, especially with the lilac colored flowers. I purchased this dress about two years ago for $39.99. It wasn’t my cheapest purchase, but I fell in love with dresses at a young age, and I still am obsessed with them.

Cardigan: American Eagle Outfitters

  • I thought that this would be the perfect cardigan to pair with my dress. The lilac colored cardigan compliments the floral patterns of the dress perfectly. Needless to say, it was a match made in heaven! (I know, that was a terrible cliche…I apologize.) I purchased this dress three years ago from American Eagle for $15.99. I don’t think it was a bargain, but it was a bad deal either.

Sandals: DSW

  • These sandals from DSW are my favorite sandals that I own. They’re comfortable and I receive the most compliments when I wear them with outfits. Not to mention, they match perfectly with almost every outfit. They’re a great match to wear with skirts and dresses in the summertime, but still work great with jeans and a t-shirt in fall. Although I can’t wear them in winter, they still can be worn three out of the four seasons. That’s good enough for me!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s outfit of the day post. I would love to hear your opinions on my outfit today and if you have any other suggestions on posts that you would like to see! Please don’t hesitate to let me know. I hope you all have a fabulous Monday, and, as always, I will talk to you all soon, bye!

Outfits Under $50: Laid-Back Summer Style

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you all are having a relaxing weekend. Today is going to be my busiest day of the week, so I decided to get a head-start on my day and write my blog post at 7 a.m.

I wanted to write another Outfits Under $50 post because I think it’s great to see how far you can stretch $50 for an outfit. It’s a great way to save money, and it’s perfect to see outfit inspiration for back-to-school shopping. (If you’re still in high school or college)

The store that I wanted to shop at for this outfit was American Eagle. Throughout my middle school and high school years, I was OBSESSED with American Eagle. Everyone had their sweaters and jeans: it was classic. Nowadays, I only shop there for certain items, but I thought it would be interesting to see if I could shop there for an outfit.

Top: Hi-Lo Crop Tank: $10

  • I loved this shirt for two reasons: one, it was $10 and two, because you can use this as a go-to piece for many outfits. If it’s going to be cooler by the time you start school, you can always throw a cute cardigan over this top and be comfy cozy for the day. Or, you can dress it up with a skirt and wedges. Whatever you prefer to wear, this top can open a door of many possibilities for you. Did I mention that it’s only $10?!

Shorts: Hi-Rise Denim Shortie: $19.99

  • I think that having a go-to pair of shorts is always the way to go. Specifically, these shorts can look great with a simple hi-lo top (listed above) or you can mix it with other tops in your closet that you prefer. It’s great to find shorts that aren’t too short. (Believe me, having denim material in areas when it shouldn’t be can become extremely uncomfortable and awkward for everyone involved).

Sandals: AEO Flip-Flop: $14.99

  • I like to keep the shoes simple because…one, I only have $50 to spend, and two it’s a great way to keep shoes that can compliment any outfit. These flip-flops are perfect with shorts and a tank top, summer dresses, or skirts. Any outfit can be paired with sandals.

Total Cost For Outfit: $44.97

I’m not going to lie, I am extremely impressed that I was capable of finding an outfit for under $50 from American Eagle. Some of their items can be pricey. But, with a little research and good shopping skills, you can always find a way to save money.

I hope you all enjoyed this post for today. You all know how much I love putting together different outfits for different occasions, especially when I can save money in the process. It’s a win-win situation for everyone! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, relax and unwind before we begin another week. And, as always, I will talk to you all soon, bye!

Outfits Under $50: Boho Meets Nautical

Good Morning, Everyone. I hope you all are having a great end of the week. It is finally Friday, so cheers to the weekend! Today I wanted to do something new with my blog regarding fashion. I want to shop around and put together different outfits from stores that will be under $50.

I thought that it would be cool to mix-and-match different styles while staying in a particular price range that would work for the majority of people. I think $50 for a completed outfit is acceptable, right?

For my first outfit, I shopped at Forever 21. The mecca of good deals and cute fashion. I picked out three items: A top, shorts and sandals that are under $50. Also, I decided to label the types of styles that I will be mixing together. Today, I am mixing bohemian with nautical.

All of the links will be listed below where you can see the outfits I picked out for each post. I encourage feedback on these, so please don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Lets get started!

Top: Nautical-Inspired Crop Top: $11.80

  • I fell in love with this top. Not only am I obsessed with crop tops, but also, I am obsessed with nautical-inspired pieces. I love how simple this top is because it will compliment various styles. Because it uses simple colors: black and white, you’ll always have an outfit to pair this top with. And, crop tops are this years go-to summer piece, so you’ll be in style all year long.

Shorts: Summer Solstice Denim Shorts: $19.80

  • These shorts were the piece that made me say, “Okay, I need to write a fashion post about these shorts because these are the most perfect shorts that ever existed, EVER!” No exaggeration, these shorts were the inspiration for this new addition to my blog. So, thank Forever 21 for having such cute clothes for affordable prices. I am obsessed with the striped-pattern of these shorts; they’re cool, laid-back and bring out the best in bohemian style. And, shorts for under $20? That’s practically unheard of!

Sandals: Rosette Thong Sandals: $14.80

  • I decided for the sandals that I wanted to keep it simple. The shorts are the stand-out piece of my outfit, so I didn’t want to have flats or heels that would take away from that. These sandals are perfect because they’re black; meaning you can mix it up with many outfits in the future. And, that’s what I always look for in a shoe: versatility. It’s essential to have shoes that can be paired with different styles all-year long. You always want to get the most bang for your buck. So, I thought these shoes would be the perfect fit for my outfit.

Total cost of purchase: $46.40

I thought that this outfit would be perfect for a summer concert or a trip to the beach. Mixing two styles together shouldn’t be an overwhelming process: just keep it simple, and discover what you love. That’s all it takes.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s new post on my outfits under $50. If you would like to see more of these on my blog, let me know! I love hearing feedback from you guys. And, as always, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will talk to you all soon, Bye!

Monday Outfit Of The Day (OOTD)

Good Morning! I hope everyone enjoyed the rest of their weekend. Today, as you can tell from the title, I am going to write another outfit of the day post.

Today was one of those days where I was extremely excited to wear an outfit. I was happy to wake up, shower, get ready and put on the outfit I have been planning for the last few days.

I wanted to be a little daring with my outfit, so I instinctively grabbed my leopard-printed pants to show off my bold look.

My leopard-printed jeggings are from Ann Taylor Loft. I purchased these last summer on sale for $29.99. These jeggins are stretchy, comfortable and flatter different body types. I love pairing them with cute tops and a pair of heels. These jeans are more suitable for the fall months, but I think occasionally wearing them in the summertime isn’t a bad thing, right?

My navy blue top is from GAP. I am obsessed with the ruffles on the neckline of the top, they add that little feminine touch to my bold and daring look. I purchased this top from GAP almost four years ago, and I still love it as much as I did when I first bought it. Not to mention, it was only of those steals I had at GAP. This shirt was originally $29.99 and it was marked down to $13.99, and the sale was to take an additional 50% off of all marked-down items, so I bought this shirt for under $8. As you all know by now, I LOVE a good sale.

Finally, to complete my look, I added my black Madden Girl heels from DSW. Every pair of Madden Girl shoes I own are the most comfortable shoes in my closet. I could wear their heels for hours on end and never feel like my feet are going numb, which isn’t a good feeling. And, they’re the perfect going out heel because you never have to worry about casually throwing your shoes off and potentially losing them at some point. Needless to say, if you haven’t owned a pair of Madden Girl heels, buy some. I purchased these for $34.99. And, I don’t think that’s too expensive considering the quality and how long they will last over the years.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s outfit of the day post. I love seeing what other people wear throughout the week, especially if I want to get some inspiration on an upcoming event I need to plan an outfit for. Enjoy the rest of the day, don’t work too hard and, as always, I will talk to you all soon. Bye!

Saturday Outfit Of The Day (OOTD)

Good Morning, Everyone! Today I am going to post my Saturday outfit of the day. Today is going to be one of those crazy days where I won’t even have a second to relax, but I know it’ll still be a good day.

Just a quick run down of my day today: Work from 9-1, lunch with my friend, Ian at 1:30, meet up with Taylor at 3:30, change and get ready for a wedding and be at the wedding by 5:30, and I’ll be babysitting at the wedding from 6-11. So, needless to say that my day is going to be busy.

I love writing outfit of the day posts because I love to see what other people wear on a day-to-day basis, and to see what they wear for certain occasions.

I wanted to have a versatile outfit that would get me through a good portion of the day. Disclaimer: I am not wearing this outfit to the wedding tonight! Just for anyone who was confused. Let’s get started!

First off, my white tank top if from Hollister. And, I am absolutely in love with the crochet-detailing on this piece. It’s light-weight and airy for those hot August nights. It also gives the tank top a feminine touch, and as you may or may not know, I am a girly girl.

Next, my bralette is also from Hollister. I love the lace on the bralette because when it shows through a top (like this one, specifically) it compliments the detailing of the crocheted tank top, which adds a positive dimension to the look.

I am wearing my dark wash super skinny jeans from Hollister. And, I have raved about them in multiple outfit of the day posts because they are my go-to jeans for various occasions. I love how comfortable they stretch to fit my waist, and I love how cute they look when you double cuff them at the bottom. Definitely a good pair of jeans that I bought as a bargain price!

Finally, my flip flops are from Old Navy. I wear these flip flops almost everyday in the summertime because they are a neutral color, so they match with any outfit I wear. And, they are extremely comfortable. Also, I purchased them from Old Navy two years ago when they had their 5 for a $1 flip flop sale, so how can you say no to a deal like that?

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post on my Saturday outfit of the day. I hope you all have an incredible weekend. Relax and enjoy because you definitely deserve it. And, as always, I will talk to you all soon, bye!

My First LBD: A fashion story that will warm your heart!

Hello, Everyone! Although it is raining here again in Buffalo, I am trying to make the most of a rainy day and stay productive. Of course, I wouldn’t be able to start my day right unless I wrote my blog post for the day.

Today I wanted to share a fashion post because I recently purchased my first little black dress, which is far more exciting because of the story I have to go with it. So, I wanted to give all you fashion lovers a story that you will appreciate.

The other day, I went to the mall with my mom in search for a dress for my cousin’s wedding. I had no intention of purchasing a dress that day, but I thought that looking wouldn’t be a bad idea. So, off to the mall we went and the search was on.

Of course, my first stop was to go into Ann Taylor Loft because I always manage to find the perfect piece for any occasion. And, not to mention, it’s my favorite store, and I think it’s fair to say that I am a little OBSESSED with their clothes.

After going through closets of clothes, I wasn’t finding anything that caught my eye. Needless to say, I was a little upset at first because I was sure that I would find something I would love.

I decided to go around and make my round near the clearance section, when a SALE dress rack caught my eye. All of the dresses were bold, bright summer colored and printed dressed. Well, all except one…

In the middle of the rack, situated perfectly was a little black dress. I thought to myself, well, there’s no way that dress is a size 2. To my surprise, it was. I did freak out for a split second because how was it possible to have the only dress that I fell in love with, in my size, and be marked down on sale? It was a gift from the Gods, I swear!

Also, I was in awe over the quality of the dress. Everything from the gorgeous and delicate detailing on top of the dress to the well-crafted hems on the bottom of the dress. The material was perfect so that you could wear it for any season of the year. And, trust me when I say those dresses are hard to find. Needless to say, It. Was. Perfect.

I completely forgot about one aspect of the dress–the price. I was terrified to look because I knew that a dress of the quality had to be at least $80.00. Originally, the dress was $118.00 and marked down to $69.99. But, what we didn’t know is that the sale was to take an additional 50% off the marked-down price. So, my lovely mathematicians, that brings out dress down to $34.00. And, with tax, it came to around $35.

I think it’s safe to say that I stole this dress.

Not only is the dress gorgeous and fits perfectly on me, it was a steal and definitely worth the $35. After, I walked out happily and knew that I just made a purchase that I wouldn’t regret.

Not only is this my first little black dress, but it’s also a shopping experience worth telling to other people, especially if they appreciate a good bargain like I do. What can I say, I like to be thrifty sometimes. After all, I’m a broke college kid who needs to save for grad school.

I hope you all enjoyed my fashion post for the day on my first little black dress. I am excited to wear this dress for the wedding and other upcoming events throughout the year. The dress will definitely be put to good use. If you have any stories similar to this one, I’d love to hear them. And, as always, enjoy the rest of the day. Hang in there, it’s almost the weekend!

I will talk to you all soon, Bye!

Outfit Inspiration: Summer Concert

Good Morning! I am surprised that I woke up as early as I did, so I decided to write my post before work. As you can tell from the title, I will be posting another fashion post today. Please don’t be angry because I promise to switch it up for the rest of the week. I just love creating different look for specific occasions.

June, July and August are the three prime months for summer concerts, so I decided that it would be a good idea to create an outfit template for someone who is going to a concert.

I’m sad to say that I had no time for any concerts this summer. Work and orientation took up the majority of my free time, but I will be attending the Macklemore concert in autumn.

The top I chose is a tank top from Pac Sun. This top was a purchase I couldn’t ignore because it was in the sale section for $8.99, how do you pass up a bargain like that?! I love the tribal-print/ Aztec-inspired pattern on the top; it isn’t overwhelming, but still gives the tank top it’s own style. The tank stop is slightly cropped, and flows out and the bottom, which is flattering for any body top: another reason why I fell in love with it. Finally, although you cannot see it perfectly, there is lace detailing on the back of the shirt, and I think that’s a slight feminine touch to make this shirt appealing to a variety of styles.

Next, I paired my tank top with my light-washed, high-waist shorts from Hollister. I have been loving high-waist shorts for the past two summers, and I hope this trend sticks around because I am obsessed. Also, on these shorts particularly, I love the crochet detailing on the pockets of the shorts: it’s unique and feminine for the summertime. I purchased these shorts a few months ago for about $21.00. As you can probably guess, I did buy them on sale (surprise, surprise!) The combination of the cropped tank top and high-waist shorts is a perfect go-to outfit for the summertime.

Finally, I added my DSW sandals that I purchased three years ago. These sandals are perfect for the summertime. The flowered detailing on the straps highlights the perfect combination of feminine and bohemian style. I always receive compliments on on these sandals because of how unique they are: they are definitely a good conversation starter if you’re looking to meet new people at a concert.

I hope you all enjoyed my outfit inspiration post. Tomorrow and Friday, I plan on writing other posts besides fashion inspired posts, so don’t worry to my followers who are interested in health and fitness, or beauty, I will give you a lot of material for the rest of the week. Enjoy!

Outfit Inspiration: Intership

Good Afternoon! If you all couldn’t tell, I have missed writing fashion post for you all on my blog over the last few weeks. I love putting together different pieces to create an inspirational look for you all to learn more about my personal style.

So, today is another fashion day and I hope you all don’t mind if I blow up your feed with fashion inspiration posts.

I love creating outfits for certain occasions (fourth of July, summer date, etc.) so I think I am going to start creating various occasions that include outfit inspiration. Today, for example, is outfit inspiration for an internship. I know that many people have internships throughout their college years, and I thought it would be cool to create a professional but comfortable outfit.

First, the shirt was my staple piece, or the article of clothing that I wanted to build my outfit around. I purchased this summer earlier in May at American Eagle on sale for $19.99. It was a top that could only be purchased online-only, but it was the only return and in a size small; clearly, it was meant for me to buy. I love how simple and elegant the violet floral print is on the top–it is stunning. And, the violet is a great pop of color for the basic peach background. Also, the crochet detailing around the neckline looks gorgeous on anyone. It’s a flattering top with a lot of personality.

Next, I paired the top with my plum lace skirt from Ann Taylor Loft. This skirt is one of my all-time favorite skirts that I own. Not only was it on clearance, but also works perfectly throughout every season of the year. For summer, you can pair it with a light-weight tank top. In autumn or spring, you can layer a cardigan over a basic t-shirt. Winter, you can wear a chunky sweater with knee-high boots and socks: It is the all-year-round skirt! I paired the top with this skirt specifically because the floral pattern brings out the violet color of the skirt, so I thought it was a perfect match. The skirt is very feminine but professional for a summer internship, especially if your coworkers look a well established outfit.

Finally, I purchased these black flats from Nine West about three years ago. They are my go-to shoes if I need to wear something that is my statement piece. As you can all tell, these shoes always strike up a conversation, which is a great way to get to know other people in your internship. People will always compliment a fabulous necklace or pair of shoes, so make sure you wear something fashion forward and comfortable to strike up conversation with other people. I love the embellishments on these shoes. It looks like someone splattered a jewelry box all over a simple fair of black flats, and created a work of art. That’s why I receive comments on them–they look like little pieces of artwork instead of a pair of shoes

I hope you all enjoyed this fashion post on my internship fashion inspiration. If you have any suggestions on other outfit inspiration you would like to see on my blog, let me know. Until then, I will talk to you all soon.
